Align your credentials to Apple's TPM stack
Apple's Technical Project Managers are expected to bridge hardware and software delivery, not just track milestones. Certifications like PMP paired with hands-on experience in silicon development cycles, NPI processes, or supply chain coordination signal the cross-functional depth Apple's hiring teams screen for.
Target roles tied to Apple's hardware programs
Apple structures TPM hiring around specific product lines and engineering orgs, including Custom Silicon, Pro Products, and Sensing Technology. Applying through org-specific postings rather than generic TPM listings increases your visibility with teams that have active headcount and established sponsorship workflows.
Understand which visa pathway fits your background
Apple sponsors H-1B, E-3, H-1B1 visa, TN, and F-1 OPT for TPM roles, each with different timelines and eligibility rules. Australians can pursue E-3 outside the H-1B lottery window, and Canadians and Mexicans can use TN if the role qualifies under the USMCA professional categories.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple TPM openings by visa type
Apple posts Technical Project Manager roles across multiple teams simultaneously, and not all carry the same sponsorship scope. Migrate Mate lets you filter Apple's open TPM positions by the visa categories the company has actively sponsored, so you target roles that match your specific authorization pathway.
Time your application around Apple's H-1B filing calendar
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS's April 1 filing window means Apple must submit your petition months before your intended start date. Starting conversations with recruiters no later than December gives the team time to route your offer through legal before the registration deadline opens in March.
Prepare for Apple's internal immigration review process
After an offer is extended, Apple's legal and HR teams conduct their own assessment before committing to sponsorship. Having your degree certificates, transcripts, and prior visa approval notices organized in advance shortens this review period and reduces the risk of delays before your I-129 or visa application is filed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Project Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Project Manager roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, Apple typically initiates the process in late winter so petitions are ready for the April 1 filing window. If you're already on OPT or another valid status, you may be eligible to work while the petition is pending.
How do I apply for Technical Project Manager jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers portal at apple.com/careers. TPM roles are posted by specific engineering organizations, so searching by team or product area often surfaces more relevant openings than a broad title search. Migrate Mate also aggregates Apple's TPM postings and filters them by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify roles that align with your specific work authorization needs before you apply.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for Technical Project Manager roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, H-1B1 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for TPM positions. E-3 visa is available exclusively to Australian citizens and bypasses the H-1B lottery. TN visa applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories under USMCA. For longer-term residency, Apple also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for eligible employees in this function.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Technical Project Manager candidates needing sponsorship?
Apple's TPM roles in Electronics and Hardware typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 petitions. Experience managing cross-functional hardware programs, NPI cycles, or supply chain coordination strengthens both your candidacy and your visa petition, since the degree-to-role alignment is something USCIS reviews when adjudicating specialty occupation claims.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from Apple?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 and TN can move quickly, sometimes within a few weeks of an offer, since they don't require USCIS approval before the consular appointment. H-1B standard processing currently runs several months after the April 1 filing date, though premium processing through USCIS can return a decision in about two to three weeks for an additional fee. Your Apple legal contact will confirm which options apply to your situation.
