INTRODUCTION
Imagine what you could do here!
The people here at Apple don't just create products - they create the kind of wonder that's revolutionized entire industries. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it.
Apple's Sales organization generates the revenue needed to fuel our ongoing development of products and services. This in turn enriches the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Our sales team is, in many ways, the face of Apple to our largest customers.
DESCRIPTION
Trade-in is a core part of how consumers buy Apple products, but in the enterprise channel, it has yet to take hold. Apple Business Trade In aims to change that by delivering a simple, seamless experience for customers and resellers that makes trade-in a standard, expected part of the business device lifecycle, and a repeatable growth lever for Apple and its channel partners.
Apple Business Trade In is a new and growing program at the center of how businesses upgrade to Apple. We're building something from the ground up: designing the go-to-market model, shaping the experience for resellers and their customers, and demonstrating that trade-in can meaningfully accelerate device refreshes and bring new customers into the Apple ecosystem.
The program is live and gaining traction, but there's real work ahead in figuring out where the biggest opportunities are, how to reach them, and what it takes to scale. The person who joins will have a direct hand in shaping that.
We're looking for a Business Development Manager who is equally comfortable generating demand, engaging business customers alongside their reseller partners, shaping where we invest to grow the fastest, and managing the operational realities of a program that's still being built. You'll work across the channel and directly with customers to make trade-in a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
-
Drive demand generation across the reseller channel and directly with business customers - identifying, engaging, and activating the right partners and end users to build Apple Business Trade In into their purchasing and refresh cycles.
-
Own the partner relationship end-to-end - from initial pitch and onboarding through ongoing enablement, deal support, and escalation management.
-
Build reseller capability by developing and delivering training that helps partner teams confidently pitch and sell Apple Business Trade In to their customers, with the goal of making them self-sufficient over time.
-
Engage business customers directly to articulate the program's value, address competitive alternatives, and close deals that include trade-in as part of the refresh.
-
Shape program investment strategy by analyzing what's working, identifying where the biggest opportunities are, and making recommendations on how to allocate resources to drive the most growth.
-
Develop and execute go-to-market plans with channel partners, including campaign timing, promotional strategy, and reseller and customer activation.
-
Drive internal alignment and advocacy - actively selling the program within Apple to build awareness, unlock support, and keep internal stakeholders engaged as the program grows.
-
Manage deal execution from quote to close - handling standard deals efficiently while serving as the expert resource for large, complex, or non-standard requests that require custom pricing, special logistics, or additional judgment.
-
Oversee program operations to ensure customers receive their trade-in credits in line with program SLAs, tracking where things stand and resolving issues before they become problems.
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for reseller and partner inquiries, maintaining consistent program guidance and fast response times.
-
Define and own program reporting - developing the KPIs that measure program health and growth, tracking performance over time, and delivering regular reporting to leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience in sales, business development, channel sales, or program management.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience driving demand and pipeline through both channel partners and direct business customer engagement.
Strong understanding of B2B sales motions: how resellers sell, how business customers buy, and where trade-in fits into both.
Experience shaping go-to-market strategy, not just executing it - you've had a seat at the table when decisions about where to invest and how to grow were being made.
Ability to manage operational workflows and detail-oriented processes while simultaneously thinking about strategic improvements.
Excellent communication and presentation skills. You can adapt your message for a reseller rep, a business customer, or an executive.
Comfortable working in an early-stage environment where not everything is defined and priorities shift.
Ability to travel domestically as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of related experience.
Background in technology sales, trade-in, financing, or hardware lifecycle programs.
Experience working within a channel or indirect sales model (resellers, VARs, distributors).
Track record of building enablement programs that help partner teams sell more effectively.
Familiarity with trade-in economics, device valuation, or asset recovery.
Strong analytical instincts. You track what matters and use data to prioritize your time and investment decisions.
Experience building programs from the ground up, including defining processes, metrics, and partner strategies.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
An MBA is a plus.

Frame your experience around hardware ecosystems
Apple's Business Development teams focus on partnerships tied to silicon, devices, and platform integrations. Tailor your resume to show deal experience in Electronics and Hardware supply chains, component licensing, or OEM relationships rather than generic sales or BD work.
Target roles aligned with your current visa status
Apple sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and OPT across Business Development functions, but not every role is filed under the same category. Identify which visa type fits your situation before applying so you can address sponsorship compatibility directly during recruiter screening calls.
Use Migrate Mate to filter active openings by sponsorship
Apple posts Business Development roles across multiple sub-functions simultaneously, making it hard to identify which positions actively support visa filings. Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple's open roles specifically by sponsorship eligibility so you're only applying where a path exists.
Prepare for Apple's structured cross-functional interviews
Apple's BD hiring process typically includes rounds with finance, legal, and product teams, not just the hiring manager. Prepare to articulate how a deal structure you've worked on affected multiple internal stakeholders, since Apple evaluates BD candidates on cross-functional influence, not just revenue outcomes.
Understand H-1B cap timing before accepting an offer
If you're currently on OPT and need H-1B sponsorship, Apple can only file during the April registration window for an October 1 start. Confirm offer timing with your recruiter early. A 24-month STEM OPT extension gives you more flexibility if you miss a lottery cycle.
Verify your LCA reflects the correct Apple work location
Apple has major Business Development offices in Cupertino, Austin, and New York. Your employer-filed Labor Condition Application through DOL must list your actual primary work location. If your role involves regular travel between sites, confirm with your immigration contact how that gets documented.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. Apple participates in the annual H-1B cap registration each April, and successful candidates receive October 1 start dates tied to the fiscal year. If you're on OPT, a STEM extension can bridge the gap if you don't clear the lottery in your first eligible year.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site, but come prepared. Apple's Business Development roles are competitive and often require demonstrated experience in hardware partnerships, channel strategy, or platform licensing. Your application should make your BD focus and hardware industry context clear from the first line. Recruiters screen heavily on domain fit before moving to interviews.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Business Development roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa (for Chilean and Singaporean nationals), E-3 visa (for Australian citizens), and TN visas for Business Development positions, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Apple supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and current status.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Business Development roles?
Apple typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with experience in partnerships, licensing, or channel development within Electronics and Hardware or adjacent industries. MBA credentials are common but not always required. Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder deals carries significant weight in the evaluation process.
How do I find Business Development jobs at Apple that offer visa sponsorship?
Not every Business Development posting at Apple clearly states sponsorship eligibility, which makes it difficult to know where to focus your search. Migrate Mate lets you browse Apple's open Business Development roles filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify the right opportunities without sifting through listings that won't support your visa category.
