Frame your credentials around quota-carrying experience
Salesforce Business Development roles typically require demonstrated pipeline ownership, not just supporting sales motions. Before applying, document specific deal stages you owned, revenue targets you carried, and CRM tools you used so your resume reflects a quota-carrying profile.
Target Salesforce's domestic services vertical specifically
Salesforce segments its Business Development hiring by cloud and industry vertical. Roles sitting inside the domestic and household services vertical favor candidates with field sales experience in service-based or SMB markets, so tailor your application language to that segment rather than general enterprise sales.
Search verified visa-sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Not every Salesforce Business Development posting explicitly states sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Salesforce roles confirmed to sponsor your visa type, so you're applying only where sponsorship is already on the table.
Clarify your visa status early in recruiter calls
Salesforce recruiters move through screening quickly. Disclose your visa type and any timing constraints, such as OPT expiration or an H-1B cap registration deadline, at the first recruiter call so the team can align the offer and filing timeline before extending an offer.
Understand the Labor Condition Application timing for H-1B filing
Before USCIS can process your H-1B petition, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets prevailing wage requirements. At a company Salesforce's size, this step is handled internally, but you should confirm LCA certification is complete before your cap-subject registration window.
Position E-3 eligibility as a low-friction alternative for Australian applicants
If you hold Australian citizenship, the E-3 visa bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely and allows Salesforce to file year-round. Raise your E-3 eligibility proactively during offer negotiation, since many U.S. hiring managers default to H-1B without knowing the E-3 is faster to obtain.

Find Business Development at Salesforce JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Salesforce sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Salesforce sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap registration each March and files cap-exempt petitions where applicable, such as for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you're entering the lottery for the first time, align your offer and onboarding timeline to the April 1 fiscal year start.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Salesforce?
Applications go through Salesforce's careers portal, where Business Development roles are listed by cloud, region, and industry vertical. Filter by the domestic and household services segment if that's your target. You can also browse Salesforce Business Development openings that confirm visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which surfaces only roles where sponsorship has been established for your specific visa type.
Which visa types does Salesforce commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Salesforce sponsors H-1B, E-3, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Business Development positions. Australian citizens are frequently sponsored on the E-3, which avoids the H-1B lottery and can be processed at a U.S. consulate in Australia. Green Card sponsorship through PERM labor certification is typically available after a period of full-time employment.
What qualifications does Salesforce expect for Business Development roles?
Salesforce Business Development positions generally require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in outbound prospecting, pipeline generation, or partner development. Roles in the domestic and household services vertical tend to favor candidates familiar with SMB or field sales cycles. Salesforce CRM proficiency and a track record of measurable pipeline contribution are consistently weighted in hiring decisions.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap filing window?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March for roles starting October 1. To be included, you need an employer sponsor before the registration window closes. For Salesforce Business Development roles, this means targeting offers by February at the latest. If you miss the lottery or don't qualify cap-subject, ask your recruiter whether cap-exempt filing applies to your situation based on prior H-1B approval history.
