- Cross-functional Alignment: Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, AI Partnerships, Venture) to ensure a unified approach to outreach and engagement with prioritized startups.
Driving Growth and Results from Tier 1 and Tier 2 Startups:

- Executive Leadership Introductions: Facilitate introductions between Tier 1 startup founders and Snowflake's Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to foster deeper relationships and demonstrate Snowflake's commitment.
- GTM Support: Provide comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) support, leveraging Snowflake's enterprise customer base to create a prize target for AI startups' GTM efforts.
- Product-Led Growth (PLG) Motion: Support the PLG motion by promoting Cortex REST APIs to attract "off Snowflake" startups and create a path for them to move additional data and workloads onto Snowflake.
- Partnership Development: Work to transform relationships with Foundation Model (FM) providers from transactional sales channels into genuine product partnerships, ensuring that FM partners recognize the value of AI startups consuming tokens via Cortex.
- Field Enablement: Collaborate with sales and solutions engineering teams to ensure they are trained on how to effectively sell FM access and token capacity, addressing unique sales cycles and consumption models preferred by startups.
Measuring and Reporting on Growth and Effectiveness:

Align your background to Snowflake's sales motion
Snowflake's Business Development roles focus on pipeline generation for cloud data and AI solutions. Tailor your resume to show experience with SaaS or cloud platform outreach, not generic B2B sales, so your profile maps directly to what hiring managers are screening for.
Clarify your visa timeline before your first interview
If your OPT expires within six months of your target start date, flag it early. Snowflake's talent team needs enough runway to begin H-1B or TN paperwork before your current status lapses, and surprises at the offer stage slow everything down.
Confirm TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Business Development roles can qualify under the TN category when the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Confirm your specific job description maps to an eligible TN profession before assuming it qualifies at the border or port of entry.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Business Development roles at Snowflake
Sponsorship-eligible Business Development positions at Snowflake aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Snowflake roles that accept your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already expected.
Prepare your credential documentation before the offer stage
Snowflake's H-1B filings require your employer to demonstrate a specialty occupation. Have your official transcripts, degree certificates, and any credential evaluation ready in advance. A National Association of Credential Evaluation Services evaluation helps if your degree is from outside the U.S.
Understand how PERM timing affects your green card path
If Snowflake offers EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process with DOL starts the clock on your priority date. Business Development professionals from India or China face significant backlogs, so ask your hiring contact when the company typically initiates the PERM process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions across its go-to-market functions, including roles focused on outbound pipeline and enterprise account development. If you're currently on OPT or an expiring H-1B with another employer, Snowflake's recruiting team can initiate the transfer or new petition process once an offer is extended.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where Business Development roles are listed under Sales or Go-to-Market. You can also find and filter sponsorship-eligible positions using Migrate Mate, which surfaces Snowflake's open Business Development roles by visa type. Tailor your application to reflect cloud or SaaS pipeline experience, since Snowflake's BDR and sales development teams focus on enterprise data and AI platform growth.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly sponsor for Business Development professionals?
Snowflake sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Business Development roles, and supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications for eligible employees. H-1B is the most common long-term work visa for this function. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA-eligible occupations. OPT and CPT are available entry points for students still in or recently graduated from U.S. programs.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for Business Development roles?
Snowflake's Business Development positions typically require a bachelor's degree, often in business, marketing, or a technical field, along with demonstrated experience generating outbound pipeline in a SaaS or cloud environment. For H-1B purposes, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so a degree requirement embedded in the job description strengthens the petition. Prior experience with CRM tools, enterprise sales cycles, or data platform products is commonly listed in Snowflake's job postings.
How do I time my visa sponsorship process when targeting a Business Development role at Snowflake?
If you're on F-1 OPT, the standard H-1B cap filing window opens in March for an October 1 start date. You'll need your offer finalized well before April for Snowflake to register you in the USCIS lottery. If you miss the cap cycle, cap-exempt options or OPT extensions like STEM OPT may bridge the gap. For TN holders, transfers between employers happen at the border or through USCIS and don't follow a lottery calendar.
