INTRODUCTION
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
ABOUT THE TEAM
We exist to improve Product leaders' understanding and decision-making on how to profitably grow the business. Our North Star is to increase workload contribution margin dollars above the current forecast by serving as an objective, full-stack business partner. We do this by measuring key metrics, inferring actionable insights, catalyzing strategic decisions, and accelerating operational efficiency across Product, Engineering, and Sales.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of product strategy and financial analysis, giving you a unique vantage point to influence how we scale our business. We aren't looking for someone to just execute tasks and pull data; we need someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute as a business partner who can navigate ambiguity and anticipate next steps. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with strong analytical instincts, business curiosity, and a desire to make an impact. You will work on critical projects and collaborate with senior leaders to turn complex data into decisive action.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Support Financial Model Development: Contribute to the building and maintenance of financial models that track both revenue and cost drivers, enabling accurate forecasting and real-time visibility into workload contribution margins.
- Contribute to Revenue & Margin Insights: Assist in analyzing historical and forward-looking trends for revenue, COGS, and margin to support actionable recommendations that influence pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies.
- Support Pricing Strategy Analysis: Help analyze usage patterns, customer segments, and willingness to pay to support pricing and packaging decisions. Contribute data-driven analysis that balances growth and margin, and assist in measuring the impact of pricing changes. Partner with Product, Finance, and Sales to understand and operationalize pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with PMs and Sales: Work alongside Engineering, Product Managers, and Sales to evaluate new product features or market opportunities. Support business case development by providing data-driven insights into revenue potential and profitability. Communicate complex technical or financial concepts in a succinct, easy-to-understand manner to stakeholders at all levels.
- Data-Driven Insights (SQL): Find the "why" behind the numbers. You will go beyond the surface by learning our complex data structures and business drivers. By developing proficiency in navigating our schemas and tables, you'll ensure that you deliver timely and accurate insights.
- Accelerate Insights with AI: Leverage Snowflake Intelligence and AI-assisted SQL daily to automate manual reporting and speed up your insight discovery process. You will use our native AI features to streamline complex workflows, allowing you to focus less on manual data prep and more on contributing strategic insights.
- Help Build Scalable Reporting & Tooling: Translate your data findings into automated, high-visibility dashboards that Product and Finance leaders rely on for decision making. The dashboards you build will be maintained by Snowflake's business intelligence team.
- Assist in Cloud Spend & Infrastructure Optimization: While revenue is your focus, you'll also help identify and flag abnormalities in infrastructure spend to maintain healthy margins. Support recommendations to reduce COGS/OpEx and improve cost efficiency.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor's Degree: In Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. Strong academic foundation in quantitative analysis is valued.
- 1–2 Years of Experience: Recent graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of professional experience. Relevant internships, capstone projects, or academic research in Finance, Consulting, Data Analytics, or related fields count. Exposure to SaaS, Cloud, Data, or Fintech environments is a plus.
- Analytical Aptitude & Learning Mindset: Demonstrated ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data through coursework, projects, or internships. You may not have built production financial models yet, but you've shown the aptitude and eagerness to learn quickly.
- Technical Agility (SQL preferred, but not required): You have a high aptitude for navigating technical systems and data structures. While you don’t need to be a SQL expert on day one, you possess the ability to quickly become proficient in understanding complex schemas and data logic. Any prior experience with coding languages is a significant plus.
- Exposure to Revenue & Business Analysis: Familiarity with concepts like revenue, COGS, and margin analysis from work experience, coursework, case competitions, or internships. Experience with Salesforce or other business systems is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Ownership & Problem-Solving Mindset: Adept at working through ambiguity and taking initiative—whether in a team project, internship, or academic setting. You anticipate next steps, coordinate with others, and push projects forward.
- Exceptional Communication: Able to translate complex data into clear takeaways. Comfortable presenting findings to peers and senior stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement Mentality: You're always looking for ways to optimize. The first version of your work is never your last—you believe there's always a better way.

Frame Your Experience Around Cloud Ecosystem Deals
Snowflake's BD team focuses on data cloud partnerships, ISV alliances, and hyperscaler relationships. Tailor your resume to show pipeline development and co-sell experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP partners, not just general business development wins.
Clarify Your Visa Status Before First Screen
Snowflake's recruiters move fast in competitive BD searches. State your visa status and any OPT or grace period deadlines in your initial outreach so the team can loop in their immigration counsel before extending an offer.
Understand the LCA Filing Before Your Offer Stage
Before Snowflake can file your H-1B petition with USCIS, the company must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming prevailing wage compliance. Knowing this sequence prevents surprise delays when your start date is on a tight OPT timeline.
Target Snowflake Roles That Map to a Specialty Occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. Strategic Business Development positions at a technology company like Snowflake typically need a degree in business, computer science, or a related field, so make sure your credentials align with the job posting's stated requirements.
Search Snowflake BD Openings Through Migrate Mate
Filtering for visa-sponsoring employers in technology is time-consuming manually. Use Migrate Mate to browse open Strategic Business Development positions at Snowflake and similar data cloud companies that have a documented history of sponsoring international candidates.
Ask About Green Card Timelines During Offer Negotiation
Snowflake sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 permanent residence for qualifying employees. Raise the PERM labor certification process during offer discussions, not months later, so you understand whether your role and degree align with the employment-based category your employer intends to file under.

Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Strategic Business Developments?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Strategic Business Development roles. The company works with immigration counsel to file Labor Condition Applications with the DOL and H-1B petitions with USCIS. Candidates on F-1 OPT are common entry points into the sponsorship pipeline, with H-1B cap filings timed around the annual April registration window.
How do I apply for Strategic Business Development jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where BD roles are listed by team and region. You can also find open positions through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Snowflake roles that are open to visa sponsorship. Prepare to highlight partnership development experience, familiarity with the data cloud ecosystem, and any relevant co-sell or alliance management background during the interview process.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly use for Strategic Business Development hires?
Snowflake sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for business development talent, along with EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa depends on your citizenship, degree, and the specific responsibilities outlined in your offer.
What qualifications does Snowflake look for in Strategic Business Development candidates?
Snowflake typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field, combined with experience in SaaS or cloud platform partnerships. Familiarity with hyperscaler partner programs, ISV ecosystems, or enterprise co-sell motions is a strong differentiator. For H-1B sponsorship, your degree needs to align specifically with the duties of the role as USCIS defines specialty occupation.
How do visa timelines affect starting a Strategic Business Development role at Snowflake?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you have up to 12 months of work authorization after graduation, with a 60-day grace period if employment ends. STEM OPT extends this by 24 months for qualifying degrees. H-1B cap petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start, so if you miss the lottery cycle, you may need to bridge with OPT or an alternative status until the next registration period.
