At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
The success and effectiveness of our engineering teams is the most critical factor in helping customers succeed with Snowflake. As a Staff Product Manager for Developer Experience, you will lead the mission to build an industry-leading, AI-forward developer experience for the engineers at Snowflake.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where you will act as the single-threaded owner (DRI) for our internal developer platform and product validation strategy. Your primary focus will be redefining how the Snowflake product is developed and tested - shaping an AI-forward and opinionated developer experience and a modern, intelligent test pyramid that balances speed, reliability, and coverage. You will ensure our internal tools enable engineers to move with maximum velocity while maintaining the world-class quality our customers expect.
AS A STAFF PRODUCT MANAGER, YOU WILL
- Drive AI-Native Validation: Lead the transformation of our testing suites by integrating AI to generate test cases, identify regression risks, and optimize test selection, significantly accelerating the time-to-impact.
- Redefine Developer Workflow: Build an AI-forward developer experience that removes friction from the "inner loop" of development, ensuring engineers can validate and iterate on their ideas in seconds, not hours.
- Architect the Test Pyramid: Define the vision and roadmap for how Snowflake validates the product. You will shape the strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, moving the organization toward an optimized, AI-assisted validation model.
- Manage a Strategic Portfolio: Oversee a diverse set of developer-facing capabilities including development environments, local testing tools, and programmatic interfaces (APIs/SDKs) that engineers rely on daily.
- Partner Across Engineering: Work closely with our CI/CD PM and engineering leadership to ensure a seamless handoff between the developer's local environment and our global deployment pipelines.
- Drive Technical Strategy: Collaborate with engineering and data science to make high-stakes decisions about architecture and protocol standards, ensuring our internal platform scales with Snowflake’s growth.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- 8+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record of shipping developer-facing tools or technical infrastructure.
- Deep Technical Fluency: A strong background in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), with specific expertise in testing strategies and automated validation at scale.
- Platform-First Mindset: Experience building platform products that serve other engineers; you understand how to treat internal users as high-value customers.
- AI-Native Thinking: An innate curiosity and proven ability to treat AI as a collaborator to solve complex engineering bottlenecks.
- Strategic Execution: The ability to take broad, complex problem spaces—like "optimizing the test pyramid for a distributed system"—and decompose them into actionable, multi-quarter roadmaps.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Highly analytical mindset, knowing how to use metrics (e.g., test flakiness, build duration, developer sentiment) to prioritize the backlog effectively.
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Previous hand-on experience as a software engineer.
- Experience building or managing internal developer platforms in a high-growth cloud environment.
- Familiarity with modern data stack architectures or AI/ML pipelines.
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.

Frame your PM credentials around data platforms
Snowflake evaluates Product Owners on experience owning roadmaps for data infrastructure, analytics, or cloud-native products. Tailor your resume to show ownership of technical products in these categories, not just general software delivery.
Clarify your visa category before applying
Snowflake sponsors multiple visa types, but the filing process differs significantly between H-1B cap-subject and OPT extensions. Know your current status and authorized work period before your first recruiter screen so you can answer confidently.
Target roles on Snowflake's cloud product teams
Product Owner openings tied to Snowflake's core Data Cloud and Cortex AI lines move faster and carry stronger sponsorship precedent than newer business units. Prioritizing these teams increases your odds of landing in a group with established visa filing workflows.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B timelines
If your offer requires an H-1B cap filing, USCIS opens registration in March with an October 1 start date. Confirm with your recruiter early whether the role can accommodate that gap, since many Snowflake Product Owner positions allow it.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Product Owner roles by sponsorship type
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on roles where sponsorship is uncertain. Use Migrate Mate to browse Snowflake's open Product Owner positions filtered specifically by the visa types they actively sponsor.
Get your specialty occupation documentation ready before the offer stage
USCIS scrutinizes Product Owner roles under the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Assemble your degree transcripts, official translations if applicable, and a clear written link between your degree field and the specific product management responsibilities in the job description.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Product Owners?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Product Owner roles. The company files both initial cap-subject petitions and extensions for existing H-1B holders. Because Product Owner is evaluated as a specialty occupation by USCIS, you'll need a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, and your offer letter's job duties should reflect that specialization clearly.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly sponsor for Product Owner roles?
Snowflake sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Product Owner positions. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering the role, while H-1B is the standard long-term option. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations may also use the TN visa category, which has no lottery and no annual cap.
How do I apply for Product Owner jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where you can filter by role and location. Before applying, align your resume to show ownership of cloud or data product roadmaps, since Snowflake's hiring bar for Product Owners emphasizes technical domain depth. You can also browse open Product Owner positions at Snowflake filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate to identify the right openings before submitting.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for sponsored Product Owner roles?
Snowflake typically looks for Product Owners with a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience managing roadmaps for data infrastructure, analytics, or cloud SaaS products. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and familiarity with SQL or data workflows are commonly cited. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, your degree must align with the specific technical responsibilities of the role.
How do I time my application if I'm on F-1 OPT targeting Snowflake?
If your OPT expiration falls before October 1 and you need an H-1B, Snowflake would need to file your cap-subject petition in March of the same year for a lottery selection. A STEM OPT extension, available to graduates in qualifying fields, gives you up to 24 additional months and more flexibility. Apply to open Product Owner roles at least six months before your OPT end date to leave room for the offer, filing, and any USCIS processing delays.
