Frame your credentials around diagnostics market access
Quest evaluates business development candidates on payer contracting, health system partnerships, or lab services growth experience. Tailor your resume to reflect how your background maps to the diagnostics industry before you apply.
Target roles that align with your visa category
Strategic Business Development positions at Quest have supported H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT candidates. Confirm the posted role matches your authorized work category early, since OPT duration affects whether you can complete a full project cycle before needing H-1B sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Quest openings by sponsorship
Quest posts Strategic Business Development roles across multiple channels, but not all indicate sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to browse Quest's current openings filtered specifically for visa-sponsoring positions, so you only invest time in applications where sponsorship is confirmed.
Address nonimmigrant intent before your interview
Business development roles often involve long-term client relationships, which some interviewers associate with permanent placement needs. If you're on H-1B or TN status, be prepared to explain your visa timeline and how it aligns with a multi-year role at Quest.
Understand where PERM fits your long-term path
Quest has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for business development roles. If permanent residency is your goal, ask during the offer stage whether the role qualifies for PERM sponsorship and what the typical internal timeline looks like before DOL filing begins.
Build your offer timeline around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires registrations in March for an October 1 start. Negotiate your Quest offer or start date with that window in mind, since roles that start before your status is approved will require an alternative arrangement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Quest Diagnostics sponsor H-1B visas for Strategic Business Developments?
Yes, Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B visas for Strategic Business Development roles. The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for business-focused positions in healthcare services. If you're targeting a specific role, confirm sponsorship eligibility during the recruiter screening call, since not every open position automatically comes with a sponsorship commitment.
Which visa types are commonly used for Strategic Business Development roles at Quest Diagnostics?
Quest Diagnostics supports several visa categories for Strategic Business Development hires, including H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. The right fit depends on your nationality, degree level, and where you are in your career. TN visa is often the fastest path for eligible candidates since it avoids the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications are expected for Strategic Business Development roles at Quest Diagnostics?
Quest typically looks for candidates with a background in healthcare services, diagnostics, or life sciences, combined with experience in payer contracting, health system sales, or market expansion. An MBA or advanced degree in a business or health-related field strengthens your profile for H-1B and EB-2 eligibility. Practical experience managing institutional client relationships in a clinical or lab services context is a strong differentiator.
How do I apply for Strategic Business Development jobs at Quest Diagnostics?
You can browse and apply for Strategic Business Development roles at Quest Diagnostics directly through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're not guessing which roles are accessible to international candidates. Once you identify a match, apply through Quest's official careers portal. Include a cover letter that addresses your visa status and any timeline constraints upfront to avoid complications later in the process.
How do I navigate the sponsorship process timeline once Quest Diagnostics extends an offer?
After an offer is extended, Quest's HR and legal teams initiate the sponsorship process, which typically involves filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before any H-1B petition goes to USCIS. For cap-subject H-1B cases, the registration window opens in March, so offer timing matters. If you're on OPT, make sure your remaining authorization covers the gap between your start date and your H-1B approval.
