Align your credentials to diagnostics tech stacks
Quest's Development Manager roles typically require experience with laboratory information systems, healthcare data pipelines, or clinical software platforms. Frame your resume around HIPAA-compliant system development and regulated healthcare environments before you apply.
Target roles labeled engineering or platform management
Quest posts Development Manager openings across diagnostics operations, enterprise platforms, and patient-facing products. Filtering for these sub-functions surfaces the roles most likely to sit within teams that have sponsored visas for this title before.
Use Migrate Mate to track open sponsorship-eligible roles
Quest regularly lists Development Manager positions that are open to visa sponsorship, but they move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to browse and monitor these openings in one place so you're applying during the active hiring window.
Clarify your OPT or TN status early in screening
If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, Quest's talent acquisition team needs to confirm your authorization timeline fits the hiring window. Raise this in the recruiter screen, not after an offer, so there's no delay in the PERM or H-1B petition planning.
Understand PERM timing for EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
For Green Card sponsorship, Quest must complete a DOL PERM labor certification before filing your immigrant petition. This process can take 12 to 18 months, so ask your hiring contact about the company's standard Green Card policy during the offer stage.
Prepare references who can speak to cross-functional leadership
Quest evaluates Development Managers on their ability to coordinate between clinical operations, compliance teams, and software engineering. References from regulated-industry projects, not just technical delivery, carry more weight in the hiring assessment for this role.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Quest Diagnostics sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company files H-1B petitions for qualified candidates in engineering and technology functions, including software and platform development management. If you're currently on a different nonimmigrant status, confirm your timeline with the recruiter early so the petition can be filed before your current authorization expires.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Quest Diagnostics?
You can search and apply for Development Manager positions through Quest Diagnostics' careers site or find sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to visa holders. When applying, tailor your application to highlight experience in healthcare software, regulated environments, or laboratory information systems, since those align closely with Quest's internal technology functions.
Which visa types does Quest Diagnostics commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B visas for Development Managers as the primary nonimmigrant work authorization. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates transitioning from academic programs, TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa categories for Green Card sponsorship in longer-term employment arrangements.
What qualifications does Quest Diagnostics expect for a Development Manager role?
Quest typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, along with several years of hands-on software development experience followed by team leadership. Familiarity with healthcare data standards, HIPAA compliance, or laboratory information system environments strengthens your profile considerably for this function at a diagnostics company.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Quest Diagnostics?
If you're targeting an H-1B, the annual cap registration window runs in March for an October 1 start date, so time your job search to receive an offer by early spring. For Green Card pathways, DOL PERM labor certification typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS receives the immigrant petition. Discuss both timelines with Quest's HR team during the offer stage to avoid gaps in your work authorization.
