Align Your Credentials to ASCP Standards
Quest Diagnostics prioritizes candidates with ASCP Board of Certification credentials for lab technician roles. Earning MLT or MLS certification before applying signals you meet U.S. clinical standards and reduces the employer's credentialing risk during sponsorship.
Target Patient Service Centers Strategically
Quest operates a dense network of patient service centers, not just hospital labs. Roles in high-volume metro markets like New York, Houston, and Los Angeles see faster hiring cycles and are more likely to carry budget for sponsorship than smaller regional draws.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Technician Roles
Searching broadly across job boards wastes time on roles without sponsorship budgets. Use Migrate Mate to surface Quest Diagnostics Technician openings that are actively tied to visa sponsorship, so you're applying where authorization is already on the table.
Request the LCA Before Your Start Date
For H-1B sponsorship, Quest's HR team must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Confirming LCA certification is in progress early prevents last-minute delays that push back your employment start date.
Flag PERM-Eligible Roles Early in Negotiations
Quest sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for some Technician roles, but PERM recruitment and DOL review can take over a year. Asking about permanent sponsorship pathways during the offer stage, not after onboarding, sets clearer expectations for both sides.

Find Technician at Quest Diagnostics JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Quest Diagnostics sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles, particularly in clinical laboratory and phlebotomy functions. Sponsorship is more common for positions requiring specialized credentials like ASCP certification. Because H-1B approval depends on the annual USCIS lottery, timing your application cycle and confirming the role is budgeted for sponsorship before accepting an offer is critical.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Quest Diagnostics?
You can search and apply for Technician roles directly through Quest Diagnostics' careers portal, filtering by location and job function. For a faster path to roles that include visa sponsorship, browse open positions through Migrate Mate, which surfaces Quest listings specifically tied to international hiring. Tailoring your application to highlight relevant certifications and lab instrumentation experience improves your chances significantly.
Which visa types does Quest Diagnostics commonly use for Technician roles?
Quest Diagnostics most commonly uses H-1B for skilled Technician roles requiring a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field. F-1 OPT and CPT are available for students and recent graduates completing eligible programs. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical classifications. For long-term employees, Quest also pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Quest Diagnostics expect for Technician roles?
Quest typically requires an associate's or bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or a closely related field. ASCP Board of Certification credentials such as MLT or MLS are strongly preferred and in some markets are listed as requirements. Hands-on experience with high-volume analyzers, phlebotomy technique, and compliance with CLIA and CAP standards is consistently valued across both patient service center and hospital-based openings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Technician role at Quest Diagnostics?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so the process effectively begins months before your intended employment date. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS can take up to 90 days, so applications should be submitted well before graduation. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically runs one to two years from the DOL recruitment phase through USCIS adjudication, not counting priority date backlogs for certain countries.
