Align your credentials to lab operations standards
Quest Diagnostics operations roles often require familiarity with CLIA-regulated lab environments or supply chain workflows specific to diagnostic services. Before applying, make sure your resume reflects any healthcare operations, quality compliance, or specimen logistics experience directly.
Target roles that match your visa category
F-1 OPT and CPT are viable entry points for operations positions, but your job title and duties must align with your degree field for USCIS to accept the work authorization. A mismatch between your major and a general operations role can create problems at renewal.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Ask Quest's HR team which step they're at in that process so you can map your start date realistically.
Browse open Operations roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Quest Diagnostics operations jobs by the visa types they actively sponsor. This saves time by surfacing only the roles where your work authorization is a known fit, rather than applying broadly and asking later.
Prepare for a multi-site hiring process
Quest operates patient service centers, reference labs, and regional distribution hubs across the country. Operations roles are often site-specific, so clarify which location your offer covers early since the prevailing wage on your LCA is tied to the actual work location.
Understand PERM timing if targeting Green Card sponsorship
EB-2 and EB-3 PERM labor certification requires DOL recruitment documentation and can take a year or more before an I-140 petition is filed. If long-term sponsorship is your goal, raise it during the offer stage rather than waiting until after your H-1B is approved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Quest Diagnostics sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Operations positions. Sponsorship is most common for roles that meet the USCIS specialty occupation standard, meaning the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. Operations roles tied to process engineering, supply chain, or healthcare systems tend to qualify more readily than general coordinator positions.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Quest Diagnostics?
Applications go through Quest Diagnostics' careers portal. You can also find open Operations roles filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which helps you identify positions where your specific work authorization is a confirmed fit before you apply. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect healthcare operations experience, particularly anything involving regulated lab or logistics environments.
Which visa types does Quest Diagnostics commonly use for Operations hires?
Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For Operations roles, F-1 OPT is a common entry point for recent graduates, while H-1B is the standard long-term option. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations that align with operations functions.
What qualifications does Quest Diagnostics expect for Operations roles?
Requirements vary by seniority, but most Operations roles at Quest expect a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as operations management, industrial engineering, supply chain, or life sciences. Experience in regulated healthcare environments, familiarity with CLIA or CAP standards, and proficiency in process improvement frameworks like Lean or Six Sigma are commonly cited in job postings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Operations role at Quest Diagnostics?
For H-1B, standard USCIS processing runs several months after the April lottery, with an October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. TN approval at the border or port of entry can happen same-day for eligible nationals. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to three years before the I-140 stage, depending on DOL processing backlogs.
