- Strong knowledge of ITSM platforms, IT operations, and the ITIL framework.
- Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes with a track record of exceeding sales goals.
Preferred Qualifications:

Align Your Resume to Salesforce's Sales Methodology
Salesforce runs its sales org on specific pipeline metrics and CRM workflows. Frame your resume around quota attainment, pipeline generation, and Salesforce platform experience so recruiters can immediately place you in their BDR or SDR structure.
Target Roles in High-Growth Verticals First
Salesforce organizes its Sales Business Development teams by industry vertical. Domestic and Household Services is an active hiring area, so filtering your search to this segment puts you in front of teams with open headcount and active sponsorship decisions.
Understand Which Visa Fits Your Background
Salesforce sponsors H-1B, E-3, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 without lottery exposure. If you're already in the H-1B pool, confirm whether your current status supports a transfer before accepting an offer.
Get Your LCA Timeline Right Before Signing
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B or E-3 petition. Factor at least two to four weeks for LCA certification into your start date negotiation so your paperwork doesn't delay day one.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Roles
Search Salesforce's Sales Business Development openings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship history, saving you time spent applying to positions where international candidates are screened out early.
Prepare Your Specialty Occupation Documentation Early
USCIS scrutinizes whether Sales Business Development roles qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B. Gather your degree transcripts, a detailed job description from your Salesforce offer letter, and any documentation showing the role requires specialized knowledge, not just general sales experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Salesforce sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Salesforce sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery and also files cap-exempt petitions where eligible. Because H-1B approval for sales roles requires demonstrating specialty occupation status, a strong offer letter clearly outlining the degree requirements for the position strengthens the petition considerably.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Salesforce?
Applications go through Salesforce's careers portal, where you can filter by job function and location. Migrate Mate also lists Salesforce's open Sales Business Development positions and flags roles with active visa sponsorship. Before applying, tailor your resume to reflect pipeline metrics, CRM proficiency, and any industry-specific sales experience relevant to the vertical you're targeting.
Which visa types does Salesforce commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Salesforce sponsors H-1B visas for most nationalities and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, the company supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which typically involve PERM labor certification filed through the DOL. The right visa depends on your nationality, current status, and whether you're already inside the H-1B cap system.
What qualifications does Salesforce expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Most Sales Business Development positions at Salesforce require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. Beyond the degree, Salesforce looks for demonstrable outbound prospecting experience, familiarity with CRM tools, and the ability to articulate ROI to potential customers. Roles in the Domestic and Household Services vertical may also value prior experience selling into service-based industries.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Salesforce Sales Business Development offer?
For H-1B transfers from an existing cap-subject approval, USCIS can process the petition in as little as a few weeks with premium processing. New H-1B filings are subject to the April lottery and October 1 start dates, meaning you may wait six months or more. E-3 applicants typically complete consular processing in two to six weeks after the DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application.
