About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
Department Overview
Salesforce Professional Services focuses on delivering strategic engagements that define transformational opportunities and articulate clear plans for execution of change programs. We rely on our team's expertise and specialisms to engage with executive-level customers to agree on specific business goals and actions to ignite the full value of Salesforce. Our approach considers people, process, and technology — and a successful engagement includes recommendations to the business for change to support deeper, more relevant use of the Salesforce platform.
Overview of the Role
Our Business Strategy Directors sit within Experience Services, driving complex, transformational strategy engagements as senior individual contributors and subject-matter authorities. Partnering with C-level customers, they craft innovative, industry-specific strategies that clearly define the vision, metrics, and roadmap to achieve desired business outcomes.
Business Strategy Directors work closely with our key enterprise customers, partners, and technical delivery leaders to drive scale, speed to value, and a sustained landscape for future success. They bring deep expertise in enterprise business strategy, operating model design, and value realization — translating customer ambitions into actionable, multi-year programs.
We believe the best business strategists are those who obsess over the creation of customer and business value. They have a customer-centric and collaborative mentality, a willingness to commit to the customer, and the drive to break down barriers to ensure customer success.
Responsibilities
- Provide business strategy subject matter expertise as it relates to Salesforce products and services during the sales and delivery cycles
- Help position and sell large-enterprise consulting engagements to customers; work cross-functionally within Salesforce to define program scope, team, value narrative, and pitch
- Conduct assessments and facilitate workshops to develop future-state operating models and business visions
- Perform and distill customer, industry, and end-user research to identify key customer needs, expectations, and experience-led business opportunities
- Identify enterprise business process and operations improvements to realize efficiencies and increase impact
- Develop multi-year, strategic roadmaps that prioritize investments and support business objectives
- Help business and technology leaders adopt new digital operating models, governance strategies, and approaches
- Uncover future sales opportunities to drive ongoing customer value
- Independently drive engagement strategy and quality as the strategy resource on an account, partnering with (not managing) delivery, sales, and architecture leads
- Develop strategic use cases to project the value of strategy, case for change, and organizational implications
- Cultivate solution and organizational adoption, driving strategy evolution to deliver value through quicker delivery cycles
- Build Business Strategy competency within Experience Services by codifying methodologies, mentoring peers, and elevating practice-wide capability — without formal management accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience consulting in enterprise-level technology transformation programs, ideally at Fortune 500 companies, with demonstrated ability to operate as a senior individual contributor on high-stakes, C-level engagements
- Deep expertise in Consumer Goods Retail Execution (REX) within CG enterprises, consultancies, or software vendors. Experience unifying physical in-store execution with online/digital channels into a cohesive Omni Channel strategy is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Salesforce's Consumer Goods Cloud application
- Thought leadership across Cycle Planning & Territory Design, Retail Execution Management, Store Audits, Order Capture & Management, Merchandising, Promotion/Rebate Management, global Route-to-Market models and execution strategies, including Direct Store Delivery (DSD), Van Sales, Distributor Management Systems (DMS) and emerging retail AI use cases (image recognition, AR/VR)
- Go-to-market (GTM) support experience, including scoping, proposal development, RFP responses, and executive presentations
- Experience in Business Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Agile, Program Governance, Experience Design, Change Management, and/or Value Realization
- Salesforce product knowledge and solution design experience required
- Strong understanding of key business value drivers and success metrics typical of large-enterprise companies
- Ability to develop industry POVs, including identifying market trends, responses, and solution offerings
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information, working in situations where data may be absent or ambiguous and creative approaches are required
- Comfortable pitching to C-suite executives, including strong objection-handling abilities
- Thrives working cross-functionally, particularly with Sales, Engagement Leaders, Solution and Technical Architects, Experience Designers, and External Partners
- Proven ability to lead through influence and expertise rather than formal authority — guiding cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct reporting lines.
- Working knowledge of AI capabilities and how to responsibly apply them in a consulting context.
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)

Posting Statement
Salesforce is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a policy of non-discrimination with all employees and applicants for employment. What does that mean exactly? It means that at Salesforce, we believe in equality for all. And we believe we can lead the path to equality in part by creating a workplace that’s inclusive, and free from discrimination. Know your rights: workplace discrimination is illegal. Any employee or potential employee will be assessed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications – without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, transgender status, age, disability, veteran or marital status, political viewpoint, or other classifications protected by law. This policy applies to current and prospective employees, no matter where they are in their Salesforce employment journey. It also applies to recruiting, hiring, job assignment, compensation, promotion, benefits, training, assessment of job performance, discipline, termination, and everything in between. Recruiting, hiring, and promotion decisions at Salesforce are fair and based on merit. The same goes for compensation, benefits, promotions, transfers, reduction in workforce, recall, training, and education.
In the United States, compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, job level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. Salesforce offers a variety of benefits to help you live well including: time off programs, medical, dental, vision, mental health support, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and an employee stock purchasing program. More details about company benefits can be found at the following link: https://www.salesforcebenefits.com.
At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions.
The typical base salary range for this position is $197,300 - $315,700 annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.

Align your background with Salesforce's delivery model
Salesforce Business Manager roles typically require experience managing enterprise client relationships or internal operations tied to CRM platforms. Frame your credentials around measurable business outcomes, not just team oversight, so your resume clears their structured screening process.
Verify your visa category before applying
Salesforce sponsors H-1B, E-3, and EB-2/EB-3 pathways, but eligibility depends on your nationality and role classification. Confirm with USCIS guidelines whether your background qualifies as a specialty occupation before you reach the offer stage.
Target Salesforce's business operations divisions directly
Salesforce posts Business Manager openings across industry verticals, including domestic and household services accounts. Filtering by business operations or customer success management functions surfaces roles more likely to carry active sponsorship budgets than generalist postings.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsorship-confirmed openings
Searching broadly wastes time on roles where sponsorship is ambiguous. Migrate Mate filters Salesforce Business Manager postings by verified visa sponsorship history so you're only pursuing positions where international candidates have a real path to an offer.
Ask about LCA filing timing at the offer stage
Salesforce's HR team initiates the Labor Condition Application through DOL before your H-1B petition can be filed. Asking your recruiter about their typical LCA turnaround early avoids surprises if you're working against an OPT expiration or a 60-day grace period.
Prepare for PERM documentation if targeting permanent residence
If your goal is an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card through Salesforce, the PERM labor certification process requires detailed documentation of your qualifications against the role definition. Gather transcripts, prior employment records, and degree equivalency assessments before the process begins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Salesforce sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Salesforce sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means demonstrating that a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field is a normal requirement for the position. Salesforce has an established legal team that manages H-1B filings, so the infrastructure is in place once you receive an offer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Manager roles at Salesforce?
Salesforce sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, and EB-2/EB-3 visas for Business Manager positions. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa pathway, which avoids the H-1B lottery and allows for a faster timeline to start. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Salesforce supports both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which are initiated after you've established tenure in the role.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Salesforce?
Applications go through Salesforce's careers portal, where Business Manager roles are listed by division and region. You can also find sponsorship-confirmed Salesforce Business Manager openings through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by verified visa sponsorship history. Tailoring your application to highlight cross-functional leadership and CRM-adjacent business outcomes improves your chances of clearing initial screening.
What qualifications does Salesforce expect for Business Manager roles?
Salesforce Business Manager candidates are typically expected to hold a bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field, with several years of experience managing client accounts or operational functions. Familiarity with Salesforce's platform ecosystem and experience working within enterprise or service-industry accounts strengthens your profile. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must align with the role's specialty occupation classification under USCIS guidelines.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Business Manager role at Salesforce?
If you're targeting an H-1B, note that the annual lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, meaning you need an offer in hand before registration closes. E-3 applicants have more flexibility since there's no lottery, but consular appointment wait times in Australia can run several weeks. Starting conversations with Salesforce recruiters three to six months before your current work authorization expires gives you realistic buffer.
