Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
Business Development roles at JPMorganChase typically require a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. USCIS scrutinizes whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, so your degree and the job description need to clearly match.
Target divisions with recurring international hiring
JPMorganChase's Commercial Banking and Asset Management divisions consistently recruit internationally for Business Development. Focus your search on roles tied to institutional clients or cross-border markets, where global backgrounds are a genuine differentiator.
Understand which visa categories JPMorganChase files for this role
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas, plus Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. Knowing which category fits your background lets you frame your candidacy correctly during recruiter conversations before an offer is made.
Clarify sponsorship intent early in the process
JPMorganChase's recruiting process for Business Development can move quickly through final rounds. Raise sponsorship directly with the recruiter after your first interview, not at offer stage, so both sides avoid wasted time if there's a mismatch.
Find sponsored Business Development openings through Migrate Mate
Filter for JPMorganChase Business Development roles confirmed to sponsor visas on Migrate Mate. This cuts out the guesswork of identifying which postings are open to international candidates before you invest time in an application.
Prepare for the LCA and I-129 timeline before your start date
Once JPMorganChase extends an offer, the DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before USCIS can receive your I-129 petition. Build at least two to three months into your expected start date to account for this sequential filing process.

Find Business Development at JPMorganChase JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The firm participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery each March, so timing your offer and hiring process to land well before the April 1 filing window matters. JPMorganChase also files H-1B transfers for candidates already holding the visa with another employer, which bypasses the lottery entirely.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Business Development roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas for Business Development, along with Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. Australian citizens are well-positioned with the E-3, which carries no lottery and has a faster processing timeline. Candidates from Singapore or Chile may qualify for the H-1B1, which is also lottery-exempt.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Business Development roles?
Business Development roles at JPMorganChase typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, with many senior positions expecting an MBA. Relevant experience in institutional sales, client relationship management, or corporate strategy is valued. Roles tied to international markets or cross-border deal flow often look for candidates with direct exposure to those client segments.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at JPMorganChase?
Browse current Business Development openings at JPMorganChase on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa sponsorship so you can focus your applications. Apply directly through JPMorganChase's careers portal and be prepared to specify your visa status in the application. Tailoring your resume to highlight revenue impact, client acquisition, or partnership outcomes tends to perform better than a generalist business background.
How do I time my Business Development application at JPMorganChase around H-1B filing deadlines?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March for an October 1 start date. To meet that window, you need an offer and completed petition paperwork before late March. Targeting JPMorganChase's recruiting cycle in the preceding fall or early winter gives you the best chance of aligning an offer with the filing deadline without rushing the process.
