Frame Your Experience Around Payment Ecosystems
Stripe's BD team focuses on partnerships within financial infrastructure, not general sales. Tailor your resume to highlight experience with APIs, platform integrations, or financial services partnerships so your background maps directly to what their hiring managers assess.
Verify Your Visa Category Before Applying
Stripe sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT among others, but eligibility depends on your nationality and role classification. Confirm which category fits your situation before outreach, since BD roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards.
Target BD Roles That Touch Enterprise or Platform Partnerships
Stripe consistently hires BD professionals to manage relationships with banks, SaaS platforms, and enterprise software vendors. Roles with these focuses are more likely to carry dedicated headcount and structured sponsorship pipelines than early-stage or experimental team openings.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Stripe BD Openings Early
BD roles at fintech companies fill quickly and sponsorship-willing positions aren't always labeled clearly. Use Migrate Mate to filter Stripe's open Business Development jobs by visa type so you're applying to confirmed sponsorship-eligible roles from the start.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, the H-1B registration window opens in March for an October 1 start. Stripe typically initiates sponsorship paperwork months in advance, so securing your offer by December or January gives the company time to prepare your petition before the USCIS registration deadline.
Ask Directly About LCA Timelines During Offer Negotiation
Your official start date depends on DOL certifying the Labor Condition Application, which adds time before USCIS even sees your petition. During the offer stage, ask Stripe's HR team when they plan to file so you can align your transition timeline and avoid gaps in authorization.

Does Stripe sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Stripe sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which generally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Stripe's People and Immigration teams manage the filing process, but you'll need a confirmed offer before sponsorship begins. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer must also be enrolled in E-Verify.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Stripe?
Applications go through Stripe's careers page, where BD roles are listed by region and team focus. Tailor your application to highlight fintech partnerships, API-driven commercial experience, or financial services ecosystem knowledge. You can also browse Stripe's open Business Development positions filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where sponsorship is confirmed before you invest time in the process.
Which visa types does Stripe commonly use for Business Development roles?
Stripe sponsors a broad range of visa types for Business Development positions, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals under USMCA, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in qualifying degree programs. For longer-term employment-based immigration, Stripe also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for eligible employees.
What qualifications does Stripe look for in Business Development candidates?
Stripe's BD roles typically require experience in partnership development, enterprise sales, or platform integrations within fintech, SaaS, or financial services. Candidates with a background in banking infrastructure, payments, or developer-focused commercial relationships stand out. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is generally expected, and for H-1B purposes the degree must align specifically with the duties of the role.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Stripe Business Development offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B sponsorship requires DOL LCA certification, which takes around seven business days, followed by USCIS petition review that can range from a few weeks with premium processing to several months without it. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often resolved at a consulate or port of entry within weeks. Plan for at least one to three months between offer acceptance and your authorized start date for most paths.
