MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

LOCATION
In-office expectations
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
PAY AND BENEFITS
The annual US base salary range for this role is $155,800 - $233,600. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.

Target engineering and infrastructure roles first
Stripe's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines, software engineering, machine learning, and platform infrastructure. If your background is in these areas, you're applying into Stripe's most active hiring pipeline for sponsored roles.
Understand which visa types Stripe supports
Stripe sponsors H-1B, E-3, H-1B1 visa, TN, and F-1 OPT, plus immigrant pathways like EB-2 and EB-3. Knowing which category fits your nationality and background before you apply helps you frame the conversation with their recruiting team confidently.
Highlight fintech domain knowledge in your application
Stripe operates at the intersection of payments, financial infrastructure, and global commerce. Candidates who can speak to financial systems, API integration, or regulatory compliance in their cover letter and resume stand out in this sector.
Ask about green card sponsorship during the offer stage
Stripe has a strong track record on immigrant visa filings, not just nonimmigrant work visas. If long-term U.S. residency matters to you, it's worth raising EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship directly during offer negotiations rather than waiting until later.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles with verified sponsorship history
Stripe lists roles across multiple locations and teams. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your search on companies like Stripe that have a proven record of supporting international candidates.
Apply early in the H-1B registration window if you're OPT-dependent
If you're on F-1 OPT and targeting Stripe, timing matters. Stripe does sponsor for H-1B, but the lottery runs once a year. Engaging with their recruiting team well before the March registration window gives you the best chance of being included.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Stripe sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Stripe sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across multiple years. Sponsorship is most common in technical and engineering roles, though financial operations and data-focused positions also see H-1B filings. Stripe is considered an active H-1B sponsor within the Banking & Financial Services sector, making it a realistic target for international candidates in qualifying roles.
Which visa types does Stripe sponsor?
Stripe sponsors a broad range of visa types including H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for nonimmigrant workers. On the immigrant visa side, Stripe files for EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which reflects a meaningful commitment to long-term sponsorship rather than just short-term work authorization. Australian citizens should note the E-3 visa pathway as a faster alternative to the H-1B.
Which departments or roles at Stripe are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Software engineering, machine learning, and infrastructure roles account for the largest share of Stripe's sponsorship activity, which is consistent with its identity as a payments technology company. Data science, financial operations, and compliance roles also appear in sponsorship filings. Non-technical roles in marketing or sales are sponsored less frequently, so candidates in those areas should confirm sponsorship willingness early in the process.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at Stripe on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate lets you filter directly by employer sponsorship history, so you can pull up open roles at Stripe alongside a verified record of their past filings. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying and hoping sponsorship is available. Search for Stripe on Migrate Mate, review the active listings, and apply to roles where your visa type aligns with Stripe's documented sponsorship patterns.
How do I time my application to Stripe if I need H-1B sponsorship?
The H-1B lottery opens in March each year for an October 1 start date. To be included, you need an offer and a filed registration before the lottery closes. Reaching out to Stripe's recruiting team in January or February gives enough runway for interviews, offer negotiations, and registration prep. If you're on OPT with a rapidly expiring authorization period, flag your timeline upfront so recruiters can plan accordingly.
