Frame your TPM credentials for hardware cycles
Apple's EPM roles emphasize end-to-end ownership of hardware bring-up and NPI processes. Before applying, document specific experience managing cross-functional engineering teams through multi-stage product development, not just software delivery or agile sprints.
Target Apple's NPI and silicon teams first
Roles tied to Apple Silicon, sensing hardware, or iPhone manufacturing operations historically see the strongest international hiring activity. Searching by business unit, not just job title, surfaces openings where visa sponsorship is a normal part of the offer process.
Verify your visa category before the offer stage
Apple sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT extensions depending on your nationality and degree field. Confirming which pathway fits your situation before an offer avoids delays, since each category has different DOL and USCIS filing timelines that affect your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple EPM openings by visa type
Apple posts Engineering Program Manager roles across multiple internal orgs simultaneously, making it hard to track which are active. Migrate Mate lets you filter Apple's live openings by the specific visa types the company sponsors, so you can focus your applications where sponsorship is confirmed.
Align your OPT timeline with Apple's hiring windows
Apple's major hardware hiring cycles align with post-Worldwide Developers Conference planning and fall NPI ramp. If you're on F-1 OPT with a STEM extension, apply at least four months before your authorization expires to leave room for H-1B cap-subject filing in April.
Request PERM timeline clarity during offer negotiation
For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways, Apple's legal team initiates PERM after a defined tenure period. Ask your recruiter directly what the standard internal timeline looks like so you can plan your long-term status before accepting, not months into the role.

Find Engineering Program Manager at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Program Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Program Manager roles. The H-1B is one of the primary pathways used for this function because EPM positions qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. Apple's legal team manages the cap-subject filing process, which requires submission in April for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for Engineering Program Manager roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australian nationals, and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying EPM roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for students. For permanent residency, Apple pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor.
What qualifications and experience does Apple expect for Engineering Program Manager roles?
Apple's EPM roles typically require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a closely related discipline. Hands-on experience managing hardware or silicon product development programs is strongly preferred over general project management backgrounds. Familiarity with NPI processes, cross-functional coordination across hardware and software teams, and experience working within Apple's supply chain or a comparable consumer electronics environment strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I apply for Engineering Program Manager jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers portal at jobs.apple.com. Because EPM openings are spread across multiple hardware divisions, roles can be easy to miss if you're only scanning by title. Migrate Mate aggregates Apple's active Engineering Program Manager listings and filters them by visa sponsorship type, which is faster than manually tracking Apple's job board. Tailoring your resume to reflect hardware NPI experience improves your chances of clearing initial screening.
How do I manage the timing between an Apple offer and my visa filing deadline?
Once Apple extends an offer, your start date depends on which visa pathway applies. H-1B cap-subject filings have a fixed April registration window with an October 1 start, so offers extended outside that window may require a gap year or a cap-exempt interim arrangement. E-3 and TN visas can be processed more quickly through consular processing, typically within four to eight weeks, giving Australian, Canadian, and Mexican nationals more flexibility on start timing.
