Align your resume to Apple's hardware lifecycle
Apple's Engineering Project Managers own schedules across silicon bring-up, product integration, and mass production. Frame your resume around NPI or EVT-DVT-PVT milestones specifically, not generic software delivery or agile scrum experience.
Target roles inside Apple's operations org
Apple's Hardware Engineering and Operations divisions post Engineering Project Manager openings most consistently. Filtering your job search by these org areas narrows you to teams with active headcount and established visa filing infrastructure.
Search Apple's open roles through Migrate Mate
Browse verified Engineering Project Manager openings at Apple filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, so you only apply to roles where sponsorship for your specific status, whether H-1B, E-3, or TN, is confirmed.
Clarify your visa status before the offer stage
Apple's recruiting process moves quickly from final interview to offer. Know in advance whether you need H-1B cap filing, a cap-exempt transfer, or OPT extension, so you can answer the status question accurately without stalling the timeline.
Prepare for PERM documentation if targeting a Green Card
Apple initiates PERM labor certification for EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship, which requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were displaced. Documenting your specialized hardware program management skills in writing before the process starts strengthens the job description audit trail.
Time your H-1B transfer to avoid gaps between projects
If you're transferring an existing H-1B to Apple, USCIS portability rules allow you to start work once the new I-129 petition is filed and receipted. Coordinate your end date at the current employer so there's no break in authorized employment status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Project Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Project Manager roles. Apple is a cap-exempt employer by virtue of being an H-1B-dependent large employer with established USCIS filing history, but new H-1B hires without an existing visa still require cap selection in April unless transferring from another H-1B employer. Apple's legal team handles the I-129 petition filing directly.
How do I apply for Engineering Project Manager jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers portal at jobs.apple.com. Engineering Project Manager postings appear under Hardware Engineering and Operations. Tailoring your application to Apple's NPI process, referencing EVT through MP program phases, will distinguish your profile. You can also browse and filter Apple's open Engineering Project Manager roles by visa type on Migrate Mate before applying.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Engineering Project Managers?
Apple files across several visa categories for this role. H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant path for foreign nationals from most countries. Australian citizens are frequently sponsored on E-3 visas, which have no lottery and renew in two-year increments. Canadian and Mexican nationals may use TN visa status. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for recent graduates in transitional periods. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is available after an initial nonimmigrant period.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Engineering Project Manager roles?
Apple's Engineering Project Manager postings consistently require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. A master's degree strengthens H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. Beyond credentials, Apple prioritizes demonstrated experience managing hardware programs across EVT, DVT, and PVT phases, cross-functional coordination between silicon and systems teams, and comfort with Apple's compressed product release schedules.
How long does Apple's visa sponsorship process take for this role?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 consular processing for Australians typically takes two to four weeks from LCA certification to visa issuance. H-1B transfers for candidates already holding the visa can start within days of USCIS receipt. New H-1B cap filings must be submitted in April for an October 1 start date, meaning a six-month gap between offer and start. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through DOL runs twelve to twenty-four months before the I-140 stage.
