Align your credentials to Apple's infrastructure stack
Apple's Devops Manager roles consistently require experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure at scale. Frame your resume around measurable outcomes in these areas before applying, since hiring teams filter heavily on technical depth.
Target Apple's hardware-adjacent engineering orgs
Devops Manager openings tied to Apple Silicon, Pro Apps, or device firmware pipelines tend to be longer-cycle hires with more structured sponsorship timelines. Identifying which product org a role belongs to helps you anticipate the pace of the offer and filing process.
Verify your visa category matches the role level
Apple sponsors multiple visa types for engineering management, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Confirm which category applies to your situation before the offer stage so you're not scrambling on timelines.
Prepare for Apple's loop interview format early
Apple's engineering management interviews typically include a coding component alongside systems design and cross-functional leadership scenarios. Having both technical documentation and a clear portfolio of infrastructure projects ready before your first screen reduces delays in the process.
Understand the LCA filing timeline before accepting
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. At a company the size of Apple, internal legal team queues can add two to four weeks to this step, so factor that into your start date negotiation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Devops Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Devops Manager roles. Apple files H-1B petitions through its internal immigration legal team, and engineering management positions in infrastructure and platform engineering are among the functions that regularly receive sponsorship. If you're in F-1 OPT status, Apple also supports the OPT-to-H-1B transition, which requires careful timing around the annual H-1B cap registration window each March.
How do I apply for Devops Manager jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers portal at jobs.apple.com. Devops Manager roles are listed under the Engineering or Operations functions, and filtering by infrastructure or platform teams narrows results significantly. Migrate Mate also surfaces Apple Devops Manager openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which saves time if you need to confirm a role is viable before investing in the application process.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Devops Manager roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Devops Managers, along with E-3 visas for Australian citizens and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals. For longer-term pathways, Apple also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for engineering management roles. F-1 CPT and OPT are available for candidates who are currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a U.S. degree program.
What qualifications does Apple expect for a Devops Manager?
Apple's Devops Manager postings consistently require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B classification. Beyond the degree, Apple expects hands-on experience managing CI/CD infrastructure, container orchestration at production scale, and cross-functional engineering teams. Roles tied to hardware product lines often require familiarity with embedded or firmware build systems in addition to cloud infrastructure.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Apple as a Devops Manager?
For H-1B transfers from another employer, Apple can file a cap-exempt petition immediately, and USCIS standard processing runs three to five months. Premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. For new H-1B cap registrations, you'd need to be selected in the March lottery before Apple can file, which means a start date no earlier than October 1 of that fiscal year. E-3 and TN processing are faster, typically resolved within a few weeks through consular processing.
