Align Your Credentials With USCIS Standards
BKF Engineers typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline. Get your foreign credentials evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before applying so your qualifications map cleanly to U.S. degree equivalency requirements during the PERM process.
Target BKF's Infrastructure Project Portfolio
BKF Engineers focuses on land development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure. Frame your project management experience around those verticals in your resume and cover letter so recruiters can place you directly onto active project teams rather than treating you as a generalist candidate.
Obtain Your PE License Before Interviewing
Engineering Project Manager roles at a firm like BKF often require or strongly favor a Professional Engineer license. Passing the PE exam before your job search removes a common hiring hesitation and strengthens the employer's case that your role qualifies for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship.
Understand the PERM Timeline Before Accepting an Offer
BKF's Green Card pathway runs through the DOL PERM labor certification process, which takes roughly 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the immigrant petition. Ask your recruiter where sponsorship fits in the onboarding plan so there are no surprises after you start.
Browse Open Roles Using Migrate Mate
BKF Engineers posts Engineering Project Manager openings across multiple markets. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for BKF roles that include visa sponsorship so you're applying to positions already flagged as sponsorship-eligible rather than cold-applying and asking later.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
Consulting firms sometimes sponsor Green Cards but not H-1B transfers, or vice versa. Before signing, confirm in writing whether BKF will file an EB-2 or EB-3 petition, who covers DOL and USCIS filing costs, and whether premium processing is available for any bridge petitions.

Find Engineering Project Manager at BKF Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Project Managers?
BKF Engineers' documented sponsorship activity for Engineering Project Manager roles centers on employment-based Green Cards, specifically the EB-2 and EB-3 categories, rather than H-1B transfers. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, you'd want to confirm directly with BKF's HR team whether they're willing to file an H-1B transfer petition alongside or ahead of a Green Card sponsorship commitment.
How do I apply for Engineering Project Manager jobs at BKF Engineers?
You can browse and apply for Engineering Project Manager positions at BKF Engineers through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship so you're not wasting time on listings that won't support your immigration needs. BKF typically looks for candidates with a civil engineering background, project delivery experience, and ideally a PE license. Apply with a resume that specifically highlights infrastructure project types relevant to BKF's core service areas.
Which visa types does BKF Engineers use to sponsor Engineering Project Managers?
BKF Engineers sponsors Engineering Project Managers through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. EB-2 applies if your role requires an advanced degree or you can demonstrate exceptional ability. EB-3 covers positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Both pathways run through the DOL PERM labor certification process before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does BKF Engineers expect for Engineering Project Manager roles?
BKF Engineers generally expects a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related field, several years of project management experience in land development, transportation, or municipal infrastructure, and strong familiarity with California or regional permitting processes. A Professional Engineer license is a significant advantage and may be required for senior-level positions. Candidates whose degrees come from outside the U.S. should have their credentials formally evaluated before applying.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a BKF Engineers Engineering Project Manager role?
The EB-2 and EB-3 pathways both require DOL PERM labor certification first, which typically takes 12 to 18 months. After USCIS approves the immigrant petition, wait times for a visa number depend on your country of birth and the current State Department priority date. Indian-born applicants face the longest backlogs. Plan for a multi-year process and discuss interim work authorization options with BKF before your current status expires.
