Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Senior Software Engineering Jobs at BKF Engineers Jobs
Frame your portfolio around infrastructure tech
BKF Engineers operates in civil and infrastructure consulting, so highlight software projects that intersect with that domain. GIS platforms, engineering simulation tools, or internal workflow systems are far more relevant than general web or consumer app experience.
Ask about PERM timing during final interviews
PERM labor certification processing at DOL can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is even filed. Ask your hiring contact directly where the role sits in the sponsorship cycle and whether a position has been used for PERM before.
Target open roles through Migrate Mate
BKF Engineers lists Senior Software Engineering roles across multiple locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for BKF openings with confirmed sponsorship history, so you're applying to active roles rather than cold-outreaching to HR.
Get your credentials evaluated before applying
If you hold a degree from outside the U.S., get a formal credential evaluation before submitting applications. PERM requires documented proof of minimum qualifications, and a missing evaluation can delay or derail your Green Card filing.
Prepare references who can speak to technical leadership
Senior roles at consulting firms like BKF require demonstrated autonomy on engineering projects. Line up references who can speak to system architecture decisions or cross-functional project leadership, not just code contribution.

Find Senior Software Engineering at BKF Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
BKF Engineers' documented sponsorship activity is concentrated in employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to BKF is possible, but you should confirm directly with their HR team whether they'll take on H-1B transfers for this specific role before accepting an offer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Senior Software Engineering roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers sponsors through employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3. EB-2 applies if you hold an advanced degree or can demonstrate exceptional ability. EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree and relevant experience. Both require PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor before USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Senior Software Engineering roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF operates in the civil and infrastructure consulting space, so Senior Software Engineering candidates typically need a computer science or engineering-related degree combined with experience building tools that support technical workflows. Familiarity with GIS systems, engineering data platforms, or enterprise software used in project-based consulting environments strengthens your application significantly.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at BKF Engineers?
The most direct way is through Migrate Mate, which aggregates Senior Software Engineering openings at BKF Engineers with verified sponsorship context so you can confirm eligibility before applying. You can also apply through BKF's careers page directly. Either way, tailor your application to reflect experience relevant to civil engineering software or infrastructure technology.
How long does the Green Card sponsorship process take for this role?
For EB-2 and EB-3 sponsored roles, the timeline from PERM filing to Green Card approval runs several years in most cases. DOL PERM processing alone takes 12 to 18 months, followed by USCIS adjudication of the I-140. Priority date backlogs add further waiting time depending on your country of birth. Starting the process as early as possible in your employment matters significantly.
