Position your credentials for EB-2 eligibility
BKF Engineers sponsors through employment-based Green Card pathways, so document your advanced degree and specialized engineering leadership experience before applying. A master's in computer science or equivalent progressive experience strengthens your EB-2 case significantly.
Target BKF's infrastructure-adjacent software teams
Software Engineering Manager roles at BKF sit at the intersection of civil infrastructure and technology. Highlight experience managing teams that build tools for project management, geotechnical data, or civil engineering workflows to align with their consulting model.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings
BKF Engineers posts Software Engineering Manager roles across multiple locations and project phases. Browse verified current openings through Migrate Mate to identify which positions are active and confirm sponsorship eligibility before investing time in your application.
Understand the PERM timeline before accepting an offer
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires a DOL PERM labor certification, which typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS filing even begins. Negotiate your start timeline with BKF's HR team knowing this process runs in parallel with your employment.
Prepare a management portfolio showing team scale
Consulting firms evaluate Software Engineering Managers on delivery leadership, not just technical depth. Document team sizes managed, project budgets overseen, and cross-functional coordination with civil or structural engineering stakeholders to differentiate yourself in interviews.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Ask BKF's hiring team directly whether sponsorship covers only the initial work authorization or extends through Green Card filing. Confirm in writing which visa category they intend to use and whether PERM recruitment has already started for the role.

Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineering Managers?
BKF Engineers' documented sponsorship activity for Software Engineering Manager roles focuses on employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 categories, rather than H-1B nonimmigrant visas. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to BKF is possible, but you should confirm directly with their HR team whether they initiate new H-1B petitions for this role.
How do I apply for Software Engineering Manager jobs at BKF Engineers?
You can find and apply for Software Engineering Manager positions at BKF Engineers through Migrate Mate, which lists their current openings with sponsorship details confirmed. BKF typically requires a resume, cover letter, and a portfolio of engineering management work. Apply early in their hiring cycle, as roles tied to infrastructure project phases can close once a project team is staffed.
Which visa types does BKF Engineers use for Software Engineering Manager sponsorship?
BKF Engineers sponsors Software Engineering Managers through employment-based immigrant visa categories, primarily EB-2 and EB-3. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. EB-3 covers positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Both pathways require a DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition, so sponsorship is a multi-year process.
What qualifications does BKF Engineers expect for Software Engineering Manager candidates?
BKF Engineers operates at the overlap of civil infrastructure consulting and software development, so they prioritize candidates who can manage technical teams delivering tools for engineering workflows, data platforms, or project systems. Expect requirements around a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or software engineering, several years of people management experience, and familiarity leading cross-functional teams in a project-based professional services environment.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineering Manager at BKF Engineers?
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the process starts with a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which takes roughly 12 to 18 months under current processing times. After certification, BKF files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Depending on your country of birth, you may then wait for a visa number to become available before filing for adjustment of status. Total timelines vary significantly based on nationality and priority date movement.
