Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Consultant Jobs at BKF Engineers Jobs
Tailor your credentials to civil infrastructure consulting
BKF Engineers hires Consultants across civil, structural, and land development disciplines. Before applying, verify your degree transcripts and any foreign credentials align with a U.S. specialty occupation standard, since USCIS scrutinizes degree-to-role fit closely for Consultant petitions.
Target BKF's open Consultant requisitions by practice area
BKF Engineers staffs Consultants across offices in California and the Pacific Northwest. Filtering open roles by location and engineering discipline helps you identify which teams are actively hiring, which signals where sponsorship bandwidth is most likely to exist right now.
Use Migrate Mate to surface BKF's active Consultant postings
Finding roles that realistically lead to sponsorship requires filtering by employer and visa type at once. Migrate Mate lets you search BKF Engineers' open Consultant positions filtered by employment-based sponsorship, saving time you'd otherwise spend manually cross-referencing job boards.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 pathways early in negotiations
BKF Engineers sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, and the right category depends on your degree level and the role's requirements. Raise this distinction with the hiring team before accepting an offer, since the PERM labor certification process differs meaningfully between the two.
Prepare for PERM-related employment verification requirements
Green Card sponsorship through BKF Engineers requires PERM filing with the DOL, which means your employer will conduct a formal recruitment audit. Keep records of your prior work history and any certifications current, since gaps or discrepancies in documentation can delay the labor certification stage.
Confirm your work authorization timeline before PERM processing begins
PERM and subsequent I-140 filing can take well over a year before priority date movement matters. If you're on OPT or a bridging status, verify your authorized stay covers the expected filing window, since a lapse in status can interrupt an otherwise complete sponsorship process.

Find Consultant at BKF Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
BKF Engineers' documented sponsorship activity for Consultant roles is focused on employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B visas. If you're currently on an H-1B through another employer, a transfer is possible, but you should confirm BKF's current H-1B sponsorship posture directly with their recruiting team before advancing through the interview process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Consultant roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers sponsors Consultants through employment-based immigrant visa categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards processed via PERM labor certification. EB-2 generally applies to roles requiring an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers positions that require at minimum a bachelor's degree. The applicable category depends on the specific Consultant role and your qualifications.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Consultant roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers typically looks for Consultants with a bachelor's degree or higher in civil, structural, or a related engineering discipline, along with relevant project experience in land development, transportation, or public infrastructure. Professional licensure such as an EIT or PE registration strengthens your candidacy considerably, particularly for mid-level and senior Consultant positions across their California and Pacific Northwest offices.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at BKF Engineers?
You can browse BKF Engineers' open Consultant positions directly through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles filtered by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm employment-based eligibility before applying. When you apply, tailoring your resume to the specific engineering discipline and office location of each posting improves your chances of moving to the interview stage with the relevant practice group.
How do I understand the timeline for Green Card sponsorship at BKF Engineers?
After receiving an offer, your employer initiates PERM labor certification with the DOL, which can take six months to over a year before an I-140 petition is filed with USCIS. Priority date movement then depends on your country of birth and the EB-2 or EB-3 category. Starting this process as early as possible after joining is the most effective way to manage the overall timeline.
