Align your credentials with PE licensing expectations
BKF Engineers operates across California and other western states where a Professional Engineer license carries significant weight for senior project management roles. Getting your PE credentials evaluated and documented before applying signals readiness for the level of responsibility these positions carry.
Target BKF's land development and infrastructure divisions
BKF's sponsorship activity for Construction Project Managers concentrates in civil engineering service lines, not general construction management. Frame your resume around grading, utility coordination, and site development work rather than vertical construction to match the projects BKF actually staffs.
Find open roles using Migrate Mate's filtered job board
BKF Engineers posts Construction Project Manager openings across multiple offices. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for BKF roles tied to visa sponsorship so you're not manually tracking postings across job boards where sponsorship status isn't always disclosed.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 timelines affect your decision
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes two to four years before priority date movement, depending on your country of birth. Factor this into your offer negotiation so you and the hiring manager share realistic expectations from day one.
Request clarity on PERM initiation timing during the offer stage
Consulting firms like BKF often delay starting the PERM labor certification process until after a performance review period. Ask specifically when the company plans to initiate PERM, not just whether they sponsor, so you understand your actual Green Card timeline before signing.
Document project scope and budget authority for PERM job descriptions
DOL requires PERM job descriptions to reflect the position's actual minimum requirements. For Construction Project Managers, that means quantifying the scale of projects you've overseen and the degree of independent authority you hold, so the description accurately supports the sponsorship filing.

Find Construction Project Manager at BKF Engineers JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Project Managers?
BKF Engineers' documented sponsorship activity for Construction Project Managers sits primarily within employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer is possible, but you should confirm BKF's willingness to sponsor H-1B transfers directly during the interview process, as consulting firms vary in their approach.
Which visa types are commonly used for Construction Project Manager roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers has sponsored Construction Project Managers through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways. EB-3 is the more common route for roles that don't require a graduate degree, while EB-2 applies when the position demands an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Both paths require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the petition.
What qualifications and experience does BKF Engineers expect for Construction Project Manager roles?
BKF Engineers focuses on civil infrastructure and land development, so Construction Project Managers are expected to have a background in civil engineering project delivery, including grading, utility coordination, and entitlement processes. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is standard, and Professional Engineer licensure is a strong differentiator. Experience working within a consulting firm rather than a general contractor aligns more closely with how BKF structures its project management work.
How do I apply for Construction Project Manager jobs at BKF Engineers?
Browse current Construction Project Manager openings at BKF Engineers on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered to show roles tied to visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your materials to BKF's civil consulting focus and be direct about your visa status in your cover note. Following up with the hiring team after submitting an application is common practice and well-received at firms of this size.
How do I plan my timeline if BKF Engineers sponsors my Green Card as a Construction Project Manager?
The PERM process typically takes six to twelve months from initiation to DOL certification, followed by filing an I-140 petition with USCIS. Depending on your country of birth, waiting for a visa number to become available can add years. Start the conversation with BKF's HR team early, confirm when they plan to initiate PERM, and monitor the USCIS Visa Bulletin monthly once your I-140 is approved.
