Align your credentials to Deloitte's delivery model
Deloitte's Software Engineering Manager roles are typically tied to client-facing delivery teams, not pure product orgs. Frame your resume around leading cross-functional teams through full project lifecycles, managing client stakeholders, and owning technical delivery outcomes.
Target Deloitte's technology and cloud practices
Deloitte's Government and Public Services, Technology, and Cloud Engineering practices generate consistent Software Engineering Manager demand. Filtering your job search by practice area, not just job title, surfaces more relevant openings and signals hiring intent more reliably.
Search verified sponsorship-friendly openings on Migrate Mate
Deloitte posts Software Engineering Manager roles across multiple portals, but not all listings flag sponsorship eligibility clearly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Deloitte roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed, so you're not wasting applications on positions that won't file.
Understand how consulting firms structure LCA filings
Deloitte frequently files Labor Condition Applications with DOL under the client site's prevailing wage, not Deloitte's headquarters location. Confirm which worksite will be listed on your LCA, since prevailing wage levels vary significantly by geography and affect your offer negotiation.
Prepare for security clearance compatibility questions early
Many of Deloitte's Software Engineering Manager roles, particularly in its Government and Public Services practice, require or prefer candidates who can obtain security clearances. Non-U.S. citizens on H-1B or E-3 status are often ineligible, so clarify clearance requirements before advancing in the process.
Request an H-1B transfer timeline during offer negotiations
If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Deloitte can file a transfer petition allowing you to start before USCIS approval under portability rules. Confirm the expected filing date and whether premium processing will be used so you can plan your start date accurately.

Find Software Engineering Manager at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineering Managers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineering Manager roles and has done so consistently across its technology and consulting practices. Sponsorship is typically offered to candidates who clear the full interview process. Because Deloitte operates client-site delivery models, your H-1B petition may list a client location as the primary worksite, which affects the prevailing wage level used in your Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL.
How do I apply for Software Engineering Manager jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, but many Software Engineering Manager roles are also sourced through internal referrals and recruiting events tied to Deloitte's practice groups. To find roles where visa sponsorship is explicitly available, use Migrate Mate to filter Deloitte's open positions by sponsorship eligibility before applying, which saves time and increases your chances of landing in a pipeline that will actually file.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Software Engineering Manager positions?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Software Engineering Manager roles, along with employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. H-1B is the most commonly used category for this role. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3, which has no lottery and generally processes faster. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals as a lottery-free alternative.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for a Software Engineering Manager?
Deloitte typically expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, along with several years of progressive engineering leadership experience. For H-1B purposes, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so a relevant degree in the field is required. Consulting-specific experience, particularly managing delivery teams on client engagements, carrying a budget, or overseeing vendor relationships, differentiates candidates at the senior manager level.
How do I think about timing when targeting a Software Engineering Manager role at Deloitte with H-1B sponsorship?
If you need a new H-1B petition, Deloitte must file during the annual cap season, with the lottery window typically opening in March for an October 1 start date. For candidates already on H-1B status, a transfer petition can be filed year-round, and you can generally start work once USCIS receives the petition. Premium processing, which USCIS offers for an additional fee, can reduce approval time to roughly 15 business days and is worth discussing with Deloitte's HR team during the offer stage.
