Tailor your resume to consulting delivery
Deloitte's Software Development Manager roles sit inside client-facing practices, so frame your experience around delivery ownership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team leadership on defined project cycles, not just internal product work.
Target Deloitte's federal and commercial practices separately
Deloitte operates distinct federal and commercial consulting arms with different hiring processes. Federal practice roles often require clearance eligibility, which can complicate sponsorship, so prioritize commercial practice openings if you need H-1B or E-3 support.
Clarify sponsorship scope before final interviews
Deloitte's immigration support varies by practice and business unit. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific team covers H-1B transfer costs and premium processing, since not all internal groups handle these the same way.
Time your application around H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a new H-1B rather than a transfer, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Deloitte typically files cap-subject petitions in April, so securing an offer by February gives you enough runway.
Verify your LCA before accepting the written offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can approve your H-1B petition. Confirm Deloitte has initiated the LCA for your specific office location, since wage requirements differ by metropolitan area.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles with sponsorship confirmed
Search Migrate Mate to browse Software Development Manager openings at Deloitte that are actively sponsoring visas, so you can target roles where immigration support is already in place rather than qualifying it mid-process.

Find Software Development Manager at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Software Development Managers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Software Development Managers and has a dedicated immigration team that manages petitions across its consulting and technology practices. Sponsorship availability can vary by practice area and office location, so confirming support with your specific recruiter early in the process is the most reliable step.
How do I apply for Software Development Manager jobs at Deloitte?
You can apply directly through Deloitte's careers site or find open roles that actively support visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate. Software Development Manager positions at Deloitte are typically posted under their technology consulting or internal services practices. Tailoring your application to emphasize delivery leadership and client engagement experience improves your chances of moving through their screening process.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Software Development Manager roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Software Development Managers, covering both new cap-subject filings and transfers for candidates already holding valid status. For longer-term pathways, Deloitte also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, including PERM labor certification, for employees in this function who meet the tenure and eligibility requirements.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Software Development Manager roles?
Deloitte generally expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, along with hands-on software development experience and a demonstrated track record managing engineering teams. Consulting-specific experience, particularly leading delivery on client projects, is weighted heavily. Certifications in cloud platforms or agile delivery methods are commonly listed in job descriptions for this level.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Deloitte Software Development Manager offer?
If you already hold H-1B status with another employer, Deloitte can file an H-1B transfer and you can begin work once USCIS receives the petition, typically within two to four weeks with premium processing. New cap-subject H-1B petitions follow the April filing cycle with an October 1 start date. E-3 renewals and new applications through a U.S. consulate generally resolve within two to six weeks.
