The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Align your degree to the strategy function
Deloitte's visa petitions for Strategy Consultants depend on demonstrating a specialty occupation tie between your degree field and the role. A business, economics, or engineering degree maps cleanly. An unrelated major requires a stronger case through coursework or credentials.
Target practice areas with consistent hiring
Deloitte's Government and Public Services, Financial Services, and Technology practices run the heaviest strategy hiring cycles. Applying within a practice that has active project pipelines improves your odds of an offer before H-1B cap season closes.
Time your offer to the H-1B filing window
USCIS accepts H-1B registrations in March for an October 1 start. If your OPT or current status expires before October, negotiate a start date that bridges the gap or ask whether Deloitte will use cap-exempt filing through an affiliated entity.
Clarify E-3 eligibility before the interview stage
Australian citizens can use the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and processes faster than H-1B. If you're eligible, flag this early with your Deloitte recruiter so their immigration team files the right petition and doesn't default to H-1B registration.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open strategy roles by sponsorship type
Not every open Deloitte Strategy Consultant listing comes with the same visa support. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by the specific visa category you need, so you're applying to positions where the sponsorship pathway already fits your situation.
Confirm the PERM timeline if you're planning for a Green Card
Deloitte does sponsor EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for consulting staff, but PERM labor certification takes a year or more before USCIS even begins adjudicating your petition. Raise this in your offer negotiation, not after you've started.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Strategy Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy Consultants and is one of the more active consulting firms in the H-1B process. Sponsorship is tied to an active offer in a qualifying specialty occupation role. Because H-1B is subject to the annual lottery, timing your offer ahead of the March registration window is critical if you're relying on this visa type.
How do I apply for Strategy Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, but many sponsored roles are also listed on Migrate Mate, where you can filter specifically by visa type. Deloitte's strategy hiring is largely cohort-based, so applying during active campus or experienced-hire cycles matters. Networking into a specific practice area before applying significantly improves your chances of moving past initial screening.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Strategy Consultants?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Strategy Consultants, depending on your nationality and eligibility. Australian citizens can use the E-3, which avoids the lottery and has faster processing. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals. For permanent residence, Deloitte supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for eligible consulting staff after a period of employment.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for sponsored Strategy Consultant roles?
Deloitte typically expects a bachelor's degree in a field directly tied to the consulting function, such as economics, business, finance, engineering, or a quantitative discipline. An MBA strengthens candidacy for senior associate and manager-level roles. For visa purposes, the degree must align with the specific job duties, as USCIS requires a demonstrable relationship between your educational background and the position offered.
How long does the sponsorship process take after receiving an offer from Deloitte?
For H-1B cap-subject cases, the timeline runs from March registration to an October 1 start date, assuming selection in the lottery. E-3 consular processing typically takes two to six weeks after the employer certifies the Labor Condition Application with DOL. If your current status has a gap, discuss bridge options with Deloitte's immigration team immediately after accepting the offer.
