ABOUT THE ROLE
ZS’s Data Strategy and Data Office has two pillars. As data volumes expand and AI reshapes business models, Data Strategy has become a critical, board-level priority. The team supports clients in defining data vision and mission, designing operating models and data organizations, establishing governance and stewardship frameworks, shaping data sourcing and generation strategies, enabling robust data architecture and cataloging capabilities, and driving compliant value creation. In close collaboration with our Digital and Technology practice, we diagnose and execute data strategies, helping clients build data capabilities and products that drive competitive advantage. Frame your degree for consulting eligibility
H-1B specialty occupation requires a directly related degree. For Strategy Consultant roles at ZS, degrees in business, economics, life sciences, or applied analytics are strong fits. Avoid vague framing on your resume that obscures the degree-to-role connection.
Target ZS offices with active recruiting pipelines
ZS hires Strategy Consultants across multiple U.S. offices, but campus recruiting and MBA pipelines drive a significant share of entry-level intake. Identify which offices align with your background and apply through those channels directly, not just the general careers portal.
Align your OPT start date with ZS hiring cycles
ZS recruits on a structured timeline tied to MBA and graduate school graduation. If you're on F-1 OPT, coordinate your OPT start date with ZS's offer timeline so your authorization covers the full onboarding window without a gap.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
ZS sponsors H-1B for qualifying Strategy Consultants, but confirm this directly with your recruiter before final-round interviews. Asking during the offer stage introduces unnecessary friction; confirming earlier lets both sides plan around USCIS filing deadlines.
Understand how cap-subject H-1B timing affects your start date
Cap-subject H-1B petitions have an October 1 start date. If ZS extends you an offer outside the lottery window, your actual work start date may be months away. Build this into your employment planning and discuss bridging options with your recruiter.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Strategy Consultant roles at ZS
ZS posts Strategy Consultant openings across multiple locations and hiring rounds throughout the year. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for ZS roles that offer visa sponsorship so you're not manually sorting through postings that won't support your status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ZS sponsor H-1B visas for Strategy Consultants?
Yes, ZS sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy Consultants who meet the specialty occupation standard, which requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as business, economics, life sciences, or analytics. Sponsorship is not automatic for every hire, so confirm visa support with your recruiter during the interview process before reaching the offer stage.
How do I apply for Strategy Consultant jobs at ZS?
Apply through ZS's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsoring roles. ZS recruits Strategy Consultants through campus pipelines, MBA programs, and direct applications. Tailor your resume to reflect the degree-to-role alignment that matters for H-1B eligibility, and note your visa status clearly so recruiting teams can route your application correctly from the start.
Which visa types does ZS commonly use for Strategy Consultant roles?
ZS sponsors H-1B visas for full-time Strategy Consultants and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students entering through campus or intern-to-full-time pipelines. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories. Each visa type has different authorization timelines, so the right path depends on your citizenship and current status.
What qualifications does ZS expect for Strategy Consultant roles?
ZS typically looks for candidates with strong analytical foundations, often from MBA programs or graduate degrees in life sciences, public health, economics, or business. For H-1B purposes, the degree must be in a field directly related to the consulting function. Relevant internship experience, case interview performance, and familiarity with pharmaceutical or healthcare strategy contexts strengthen your application significantly.
How do I time my application around H-1B filing deadlines?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting a full-time Strategy Consultant role at ZS, aim to have an offer in place well before the USCIS registration window opens so your employer can submit your registration on time. Missing the lottery means waiting a full year, so early alignment with your recruiter on timelines is essential.
