ABOUT THE ROLE
ZS’s Data Strategy and Data Office has two pillars. Frame your degree for specialty occupation
ZS Strategy Analyst roles typically require a quantitative or business-related degree. Before applying, confirm your field of study maps cleanly to the role description, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation fit closely for consulting positions.
Target ZS campus recruiting timelines early
ZS runs structured campus recruiting cycles, often extending Strategy Analyst offers months before a start date. Engaging during on-campus events or information sessions gives you the clearest path to a sponsorship-eligible offer before headcount closes.
Clarify CPT eligibility before internship conversion
ZS hires Strategy Analyst interns who sometimes convert to full-time roles. If you're on F-1 CPT during an internship, confirm with your DSO that your CPT authorization covers the internship duration before your start date to avoid status complications.
Ask about H-1B filing timelines during offer negotiation
ZS typically files H-1B petitions in the April cap season. When you receive an offer, confirm your start date accounts for the October 1 cap-subject start, especially if you're transitioning off OPT and need gap coverage through a STEM extension.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Strategy Analyst roles at ZS
ZS posts Strategy Analyst openings across multiple offices and practice areas. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for ZS roles that indicate visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions with confirmed eligibility rather than assuming.
Understand TN classification for consulting work
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status in a management consultant or similar category. Verify that the ZS Strategy Analyst role description aligns with DOL-recognized TN occupational classifications before pursuing this route over H-1B.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ZS sponsor H-1B visas for Strategy Analysts?
Yes, ZS sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy Analyst roles. The firm participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery, so timing matters. Offers typically align with an October 1 start date, and candidates on F-1 OPT should ensure their STEM extension or standard OPT covers the gap between their start date and H-1B visa activation.
How do I apply for Strategy Analyst jobs at ZS?
ZS recruits Strategy Analysts through both campus recruiting and experienced hire channels. Campus candidates should engage during fall recruiting seasons through their university career center. Experienced candidates can apply through ZS's careers portal. Migrate Mate also lists open Strategy Analyst roles at ZS filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which simplifies identifying the right openings.
Which visa types does ZS commonly use for Strategy Analyst roles?
ZS sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Strategy Analyst positions, making it accessible at multiple career stages. F-1 students can begin through CPT internships or OPT post-graduation, with H-1B sponsorship available for the longer-term transition to permanent work authorization. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also explore TN visa status depending on the specific role classification.
What qualifications does ZS expect for Strategy Analyst positions?
ZS Strategy Analyst roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, or analytical field, such as economics, statistics, engineering, or mathematics. Candidates are expected to demonstrate structured problem-solving, strong communication skills for client-facing work, and comfort with data analysis. Consulting internship experience or coursework in strategy or operations strengthens an application considerably.
How do I plan my visa timeline when accepting a Strategy Analyst offer at ZS?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date against your proposed start date and whether a 24-month STEM extension applies. ZS files H-1B petitions in April for October 1 starts. If your OPT expires before October 1, you'll need a STEM extension or a cap-exempt bridge. Engage ZS's HR and immigration team immediately after your offer to map out the exact filing sequence with USCIS.
