ABOUT THE ROLE
ZS’s Data Strategy and Data Office has two pillars. First, we advise clients across sectors — including MedTech, Health Insurance, Travel & Hospitality, and other data-intensive industries — on all matters related to enterprise Data Strategy. As data volumes expand and AI reshapes business models, Data Strategy has become a critical, board-level priority. The team supports clients in defining data vision and mission, designing operating models and data organizations, establishing governance and stewardship frameworks, shaping data sourcing and generation strategies, enabling robust data architecture and cataloging capabilities, and driving compliant value creation. In close collaboration with our Digital and Technology practice, we diagnose and execute data strategies, helping clients build data capabilities and products that drive competitive advantage. The second pillar, Data Office, focuses on building and managing strategic relationships with a wide range of data providers to enable differentiated access to data and power innovative ZS offerings and services.
The Data Strategy Consultant will be located close to one of our East Coast U.S. offices and will help deliver world-class solutions that shape and execute enterprise data strategies, primarily in the MedTech, Health Insurance, or Travel & Hospitality sectors. This includes developing data organizations and Data Offices, designing governance and operating models, strengthening AI-ready data foundations, driving data portfolio optimization and value realization, and leading hands-on delivery of data programs. This individual will have high visibility within the firm and will work collaboratively with the broader Data Strategy team across the Americas, Europe and India, as well as with colleagues across multiple practice areas (e.g., Research and Development Excellence Digital Strategy, Technology Advisory, Compliance, and others).

Target analytics and technology roles first
ZS's consulting work in data science, advanced analytics, and technology implementation tends to attract international candidates with quantitative backgrounds. These roles align well with specialty occupation requirements and have historically been strong areas for visa sponsorship at the firm.
Understand ZS's consulting-specific hiring cycle
Like most consulting firms, ZS recruits heavily on a campus cycle tied to academic calendars. If you're on F-1 OPT, time your applications to align with their on-campus recruiting timeline, late summer and fall are typically the most active hiring windows.
Highlight healthcare or life sciences domain knowledge
ZS's deepest client base sits in pharmaceuticals, biotech, and medical devices. Applicants who can demonstrate relevant domain expertise, not just technical skills, stand out during screening and are more likely to be prioritized for sponsored roles.
Ask about sponsorship early and directly
Consulting firms move quickly through interviews. Raise visa sponsorship in your first recruiter conversation so there are no surprises during offer stages. ZS's recruiting team is experienced with international candidates and can clarify what's supported before you invest time in the process.
Use CPT strategically if you're still in school
ZS participates in CPT hiring, which means internship opportunities are available to students on F-1 before graduation. A CPT engagement can be a direct path to a return offer and eventual H-1B sponsorship after you complete your degree.
Filter for verified sponsors before applying
Not every consulting firm openly advertises which roles they'll sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, find open ZS roles alongside other confirmed sponsors to compare your options before committing time to applications.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ZS sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ZS sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in consulting, analytics, and technology. The firm has experience navigating the H-1B process and works with international candidates who are transitioning off F-1 OPT or TN visa status. Roles in data science, strategy consulting, and technology implementation are among those that have historically qualified as specialty occupations.
Which visa types does ZS sponsor?
ZS sponsors H-1B visas and supports F-1 candidates through both OPT and CPT. TN visa holders from Canada and Mexico may also find sponsored opportunities at the firm. ZS does not have a strong track record of Green Card sponsorship based on available data, so candidates pursuing permanent residence should clarify this directly with the recruiting team before accepting an offer.
Which departments or roles at ZS are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Analytics, data science, and technology consulting roles are the most common sponsored positions at ZS. The firm's core practice areas in go-to-market analytics, commercial operations, and decision science draw heavily from quantitative disciplines, fields that align with specialty occupation criteria for H-1B classification. Business technology and strategy roles have also seen sponsorship, particularly for candidates with advanced degrees.
How do I find open visa-sponsored roles at ZS?
Migrate Mate lists open positions at verified sponsors like ZS, so you can filter specifically for companies with a confirmed sponsorship history rather than relying on job descriptions that may not clearly state sponsorship availability. Searching by visa type lets you narrow results to roles that match your current status, whether you're on OPT, seeking H-1B sponsorship, or exploring TN-eligible positions.
How do I time my application to ZS for H-1B sponsorship?
The H-1B cap lottery runs in March for an October 1 start date, so your offer and I-129 petition need to be in place before that window. Aim to have an offer finalized by February at the latest. ZS recruits on a campus cycle, meaning fall recruiting, starting as early as August, is the most practical on-ramp for candidates who need H-1B sponsorship the following cap year.
