ABOUT THE ROLE
ZS’s Data Strategy and Data Office has two pillars. First, we advise clients across sectors — including MedTech, Health, Travel & Hospitality, and other data-intensive industries — on all matters related to enterprise Data Strategy. As data volumes expand and AI reshapes business models, Data Strategy has become a critical, board-level priority. The team supports clients in defining data vision and mission, designing operating models and data organizations, establishing governance and stewardship frameworks, shaping data sourcing and generation strategies, enabling robust data architecture and cataloging capabilities, and driving compliant value creation. In close collaboration with our Digital and Technology practice, we diagnose and execute data strategies, helping clients build data capabilities and products that drive competitive advantage. The second pillar, Data Office, focuses on building and managing strategic relationships with a wide range of data providers to enable differentiated access to data and power innovative ZS offerings and services.
The Data Strategy Associate Consultant will be located close to one of our East Coast U.S. offices and will help deliver world-class solutions that shape and execute enterprise data strategies, primarily in the MedTech, Health Insurance, or Travel & Hospitality sectors. This includes developing data organizations and Data Offices, designing governance and operating models, strengthening AI-ready data foundations, driving data portfolio optimization and value realization, and leading hands-on delivery of data programs. This individual will have high visibility within the firm and will work collaboratively with the broader Data Strategy team across the Americas, Europe and India, as well as with colleagues across multiple practice areas (e.g., Research and Development Excellence, Digital Strategy, Technology Advisory, Compliance, and others).

- Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic data capabilities that strengthen how organizations manage, govern and use data to drive business value
- Own defined workstreams and analyses, supporting project leads in delivering objectives on time and within scope
- Partner with senior team members to support project planning, coordination, staffing and risk management activities
- Build working relationships with client stakeholders and support presentations related to project deliverables, brainstorming sessions, discussions and status updates
- Collaborate with an extended global team of diverse skill sets (knowledge management, data technologists, business operations, etc.) to deliver high-quality outputs
- Provide guidance to junior team members when appropriate
- Contribute to building long-term Data Strategy assets and offerings
- Support proposal development, client discussions and thought leadership efforts where data expertise is needed
- Contribute to developing perspectives on data strategy innovations to build firm intellectual capital and thought leadership
- Support relationship-building efforts with key data partners in the U.S.

Tailor your resume for consulting BA frameworks
ZS evaluates Business Analysts on structured problem-solving and data-driven client work. Frame your experience around hypothesis-driven analysis, not just technical output. Hiring teams specifically look for evidence of cross-functional project contributions and measurable client impact.
Target ZS's campus recruiting pipeline directly
ZS fills a significant share of Business Analyst roles through on-campus recruiting at partner universities. If you're on F-1 OPT or CPT, applying through your university's career portal before general applications open gives you earlier access and stronger sponsorship consideration.
Clarify your visa type before the offer stage
ZS sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Business Analyst roles. Know which category applies to you before your final interview round. Raising visa type late in the process can create delays that jeopardize your start date.
Understand OPT to H-1B timing at consulting firms
If you're starting on F-1 OPT, USCIS H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start. At consulting firms like ZS, your employer files on your behalf, but you need to confirm their intent to do so well before the registration window.
Browse open Business Analyst roles on Migrate Mate
ZS posts Business Analyst openings across multiple practice areas and office locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at ZS that align with your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing.
Verify TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
TN status is a faster, lottery-free path for qualifying Business Analyst roles at ZS if you're Canadian or Mexican. Confirm with your recruiter that the specific job description maps to a DOL-recognized TN occupation category before relying on this route.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ZS sponsor H-1B visas for Business Analysts?
Yes, ZS sponsors H-1B visas for Business Analyst roles. If you're already on F-1 OPT when you join, ZS will typically file your H-1B during the annual USCIS registration period in March, targeting an October 1 cap-subject start date. Confirm this intent with your recruiter before accepting an offer, especially if your OPT is running close to expiry.
How do I apply for Business Analyst jobs at ZS?
Apply directly through ZS's careers portal or through your university's recruiting platform if ZS recruits on your campus. The Business Analyst hiring process at ZS typically involves an online application, one or more case interviews, and a fit interview. For the strongest shot, apply early in the recruiting cycle and be explicit about your visa situation upfront so the team can plan accordingly.
Which visa types does ZS commonly use for Business Analyst roles?
ZS sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Business Analyst positions. F-1 CPT is common for summer associates still enrolled in school, while OPT bridges the gap after graduation. H-1B is the standard long-term path. Canadian and Mexican nationals should ask their recruiter whether TN classification applies to their specific role description.
What qualifications does ZS look for in Business Analyst candidates?
ZS typically hires Business Analysts from undergraduate or master's programs in quantitative fields such as engineering, economics, statistics, or computer science. Strong analytical skills, comfort with structured problem-solving, and some exposure to data tools are expected. Prior consulting internships or research experience involving client-facing or cross-functional work strengthens your profile significantly in the screening process.
How do I find Business Analyst roles at ZS that offer visa sponsorship?
The most efficient way is to use Migrate Mate, which lets you filter Business Analyst openings at ZS by visa type so you're only seeing roles where sponsorship is confirmed. This saves time compared to applying broadly and asking about sponsorship mid-process, which can slow down your timeline if you're working with OPT expiration or a 60-day grace period.
