Align your degree to Deloitte's practice areas
Deloitte's Consulting hiring is practice-specific. A degree in business, engineering, computer science, or economics maps cleanly to their Strategy, Technology, or Human Capital teams. Misaligned credentials slow visa petitions, so position your background toward the practice you're targeting before applying.
Target Deloitte's campus recruiting cycles early
Deloitte fills most entry-level Consultant roles through structured fall and spring campus recruiting. If you're on OPT or CPT, timing your application to these cycles, not rolling job postings, gives you the best shot at a sponsored offer before your work authorization window closes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Consultant openings by visa type
Deloitte posts Consultant roles across multiple practice areas and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for openings that match your visa type, so you're not spending time on roles the hiring team can't support for your immigration situation.
Understand how Deloitte structures E-3 sponsorship
Australian candidates applying for Consultant roles can pursue the E-3 visa, which Deloitte sponsors. Unlike H-1B, the E-3 has no lottery and can be filed any time of year. Confirm with your recruiter early that the offer letter reflects E-3 eligibility so the LCA process starts without delay.
Ask about sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Deloitte's sponsorship policies can differ by practice, office location, and employment level. During the offer negotiation stage, ask the recruiting team directly which visa categories the specific role supports and whether long-term Green Card sponsorship under EB-2 or EB-3 is available for your level.
Track the H-1B lottery registration window with USCIS
If your offer depends on H-1B selection, USCIS typically opens the electronic registration window in March. Deloitte's immigration team handles the filing, but you're responsible for knowing the timeline. Missing the registration period means waiting a full year for the next lottery cycle.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Consultant roles across its practices. Sponsorship is tied to the specific role, practice area, and office location, so eligibility isn't automatic for every opening. H-1B sponsorship for cap-subject candidates depends on lottery selection, which USCIS runs once per fiscal year in the spring.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for most international Consultant hires and also supports H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals and E-3 visa for Australian nationals. For longer-term pathways, Deloitte offers Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The visa type available to you depends on your nationality and the specific role.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for sponsored Consultant positions?
Deloitte typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, economics, or computer science for Consultant roles. Many sponsored hires come through MBA or graduate programs as well. The degree must align with the specific practice area, since USCIS requires a direct connection between your educational background and the specialty occupation being sponsored.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, but many sponsored Consultant roles are filled through structured campus recruiting cycles in the fall and spring. If you're looking for openings filtered by visa type and practice area, Migrate Mate lists Deloitte's Consultant roles and lets you search specifically for positions that match your sponsorship eligibility, saving time in the screening process.
How do I plan my timeline if my Consultant offer at Deloitte depends on H-1B sponsorship?
If your start date depends on H-1B selection, work backwards from the October 1 fiscal year start date. USCIS opens lottery registration in March, and Deloitte's immigration team needs your details before that window opens. If you're currently on OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date and whether a 24-month STEM extension applies, as that may cover you through one or more lottery cycles.
