Align your credentials to Deloitte's specialty occupation standard
Deloitte's Technical Lead roles typically require a bachelor's or higher in computer science, engineering, or a directly related field. If your degree is in a different discipline, document how your coursework and certifications map to the role's technical requirements before you apply.
Target Deloitte's sector-specific technology practices
Deloitte organizes technical work across industry verticals like Government and Public Services, Financial Services, and Health. Applying to a practice that matches your domain experience strengthens your case for both the role and the specialty occupation classification on your petition.
Browse open Technical Lead roles on Migrate Mate
Deloitte lists Technical Lead positions across multiple practice areas and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles with active sponsorship history so you're focused on positions where the pathway is already established.
Clarify sponsorship type during the offer stage
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3, and employment-based Green Cards. Ask your recruiter which visa category applies to your offer and confirm whether the firm is filing cap-subject or cap-exempt, since some Deloitte entities qualify for university-affiliated exemptions.
Understand how PERM timing affects your Green Card path
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Deloitte must complete DOL's PERM labor certification before filing an I-140. This process commonly takes 12 to 18 months, and your priority date determines your place in the queue, so asking about the firm's PERM initiation timeline at the offer stage is practical, not premature.
Prepare for client site requirements in your visa documentation
Many Deloitte Technical Leads work on client-facing engagements, which means your H-1B petition may require end-client letters confirming the work location and duration. Anticipate this requirement so you can coordinate with your hiring team before USCIS filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Leads?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Lead roles. The company has a dedicated immigration team that manages petitions, including cap-subject filings for new hires and transfers for candidates already in H-1B status. Technical Lead positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, given the degree requirements tied to the work.
Which visa types does Deloitte sponsor for Technical Lead roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, with the E-3 available exclusively to Australian citizens and the H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals. For permanent residence, Deloitte supports EB-2 and EB-3 pathways through DOL's PERM process, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Technical Lead positions?
Deloitte's Technical Lead roles generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a closely related field, combined with several years of hands-on technical delivery experience. Roles within specific practices, such as cloud or cybersecurity, often require platform certifications alongside project leadership experience, particularly if you'll be managing client-facing workstreams.
How do I apply for Technical Lead jobs at Deloitte?
You can search for Technical Lead openings directly on Deloitte's careers site or use Migrate Mate to find and filter Deloitte roles by practice area and sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific practice and industry vertical, since Deloitte's hiring teams evaluate both technical depth and sector alignment. Referrals from existing Deloitte staff also move applications through the process faster.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Deloitte?
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS opens the cap registration window each March for an October 1 start date. If you're selected in the lottery, Deloitte's legal team files your petition in April. Premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days, is available if you need a faster decision. Factor in that cap-subject H-1B status cannot begin before October 1 regardless of when you receive your approval.
