Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.
We've got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform's impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that's alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We're rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.

Tips for Finding Senior Software Engineering Jobs at Verkada
Align your portfolio with Verkada's stack
Verkada's Senior Software Engineering roles focus heavily on distributed systems, computer vision, and cloud infrastructure. Tailor your GitHub projects and system design examples to reflect these areas before applying, since interviewers assess depth in exactly these domains.
Clarify your visa category before interviews
Verkada sponsors H-1B, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways. Know which category applies to you before your recruiter screen so you can confirm fit early and avoid offer-stage surprises that delay your start date.
Time your OPT application to hiring cycles
F-1 students on OPT have a 60-day grace period after graduation. Verkada's engineering hiring runs year-round, but aligning your USCIS OPT application approval with your target start window prevents gaps between status and employment.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Verkada's open roles
Verkada posts Senior Software Engineering openings across multiple teams. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Verkada roles by visa type, so you can identify which positions align with your sponsorship category before investing time in applications.
Prepare for the specialty occupation standard early
For H-1B petitions, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Senior Software Engineering at Verkada typically satisfies this, but gather your degree transcripts and any credential evaluations now so your employer's immigration counsel can file cleanly.
Ask about PERM timing during offer negotiation
If you're targeting long-term permanent residency through EB-2 or EB-3, ask Verkada's recruiting team when the company typically initiates PERM labor certification. DOL processing times run over a year, so earlier initiation meaningfully affects your Green Card timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Verkada sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Yes, Verkada sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineering roles. The company has an active sponsorship history across its engineering org. If you're currently on H-1B with another employer, Verkada can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work once the petition is received by USCIS rather than waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at Verkada?
You can browse and apply for Senior Software Engineering roles at Verkada through Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified sponsorship-friendly openings filtered by visa type. Verkada's interview process for senior engineers typically includes a recruiter screen, technical phone interview, and a multi-stage system design and coding loop before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does Verkada commonly use for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Verkada sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Senior Software Engineering positions. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying software roles. F-1 CPT is typically used for internship or co-op arrangements rather than full-time senior hires.
What qualifications does Verkada expect for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Senior Software Engineering roles at Verkada typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field, plus meaningful industry experience in distributed systems, backend infrastructure, or embedded software. Depth in one of Verkada's core technical areas, such as cloud architecture, video processing, or device firmware, is weighted heavily in the interview process.
How do I think about visa timing when targeting a Senior Software Engineering offer at Verkada?
The main variable is your current status. H-1B cap-subject applicants must plan around the April lottery and an October 1 start, meaning you'd need an offer months in advance. Transfer candidates and those already cap-exempt face no such constraint. For TN holders, renewals are employer-tied, so a clean transition letter from Verkada is essential before your previous status lapses.
