About The Role
We are looking for experienced back-end engineers to join the Verkada Core Platform team. We are building the platform and shared services that will enable Verkada to quickly bring to market a suite of IoT devices and to power Verkada’s “operating system for buildings.” As a member of the Core team, you will be the architect, designer, and developer in a broad range of projects.
- Build scalable distributed systems capable of handling high traffic from 100s of thousands of devices deployed around the world.
- Work with high concurrency key-value storage systems (Redis, DynamoDB)
- Spin up new services in a microservices architecture
- Help lead and grow junior engineers
What You Bring
- Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
- 6+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience driving technical direction and leading teams towards project execution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mastery of at least one common server programming language (Python, Go)
- Experience with relational databases like Postgres, MySQL, etc
- Experience with distributed systems at scale

Annual Pay Range
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs). Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable). Estimated Annual Pay Range $190,000—$275,000 USD
