Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.
We've got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform's impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that's alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We're rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.

Tips for Finding Engineering Jobs at Verkada
Align your degree field to the role
Verkada's engineering roles require a specialty occupation determination, meaning your degree must align with the specific discipline you're applying for. A computer science degree supports a software engineering role, but a general business degree won't clear that bar.
Target roles matching your OPT timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period before applying. Verkada's hiring pipeline for engineering roles can run eight to twelve weeks, so starting your search with less than four months of OPT remaining creates real timing risk.
Search verified Engineering openings on Migrate Mate
Filter Migrate Mate's job board by visa type and engineering function to surface Verkada roles that match your authorization status. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to postings that don't actively welcome sponsored candidates.
Prepare documentation before the offer stage
Have your academic transcripts, degree equivalency evaluation if applicable, and prior I-94 records ready before an offer conversation. Employers in the Technology and Software sector move fast, and delays in getting documents together can slow the LCA filing with DOL.
Clarify the cap-subject H-1B timeline upfront
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. Ask Verkada's recruiting team early whether they support premium processing, since standard USCIS adjudication can run three to five months after selection.
Leverage TN status if you qualify
Canadian and Mexican engineers applying to Verkada can pursue TN status, which has no annual cap and no lottery. The role title must match a qualifying USMCA category such as engineer, so confirm the job title on your offer letter reflects that precisely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Verkada sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Verkada sponsors H-1B visas for engineering roles. The company operates in the Technology and Software sector and has an active sponsorship track record across engineering functions. If you're cap-subject, you'll need to be selected in the USCIS lottery before a petition can be filed, so timing your application around the March registration window matters.
Which visa types does Verkada commonly sponsor for Engineering roles?
Verkada sponsors H-1B, TN visa, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for engineering positions. The company also works with F-1 OPT and CPT candidates, which makes it accessible for recent graduates still in their authorized training period. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree, and how much runway you have on your current status.
What qualifications does Verkada look for in Engineering candidates?
Verkada's engineering roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, the degree field needs to align directly with the role. Practical experience in distributed systems, embedded development, cloud infrastructure, or machine learning is commonly valued across their engineering teams.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Verkada?
You can browse Verkada's engineering openings directly on their careers page or use Migrate Mate to filter for roles that align with your visa type and sponsorship needs. Before applying, confirm the role matches your degree field, since specialty occupation requirements apply. Tailoring your application to the specific engineering discipline, whether software, firmware, or infrastructure, improves your chances of moving through the pipeline.
How do I time my Engineering job search at Verkada around visa deadlines?
If you're on F-1 OPT, start your search at least four to six months before your authorization expires to account for Verkada's hiring timeline and any USCIS processing time. For cap-subject H-1B candidates, employment can only begin October 1, so factor that into your start date negotiation. If you're in a 60-day grace period, prioritize roles where the employer can move quickly to file an H-1B or TN petition.
