Tailor your resume to Verkada's hardware stack
Verkada's Engineering Technician roles focus on physical security hardware, embedded systems, and manufacturing quality. Highlight hands-on experience with PCB assembly, firmware validation, or systems testing rather than pure software skills to match what their hiring team screens for.
Confirm OPT or CPT eligibility before applying
If you're on an F-1 visa, verify that your degree field aligns with the Engineering Technician role before requesting CPT or OPT authorization from your DSO. USCIS requires the work to be directly related to your major, and a mismatch can put your status at risk.
Target Verkada's hardware teams directly
Engineering Technician openings at Verkada sit within hardware engineering and manufacturing operations, not software. Filter your search by department rather than title alone. Roles labeled test engineer, systems technician, or NPI technician often overlap with this function at tech hardware companies.
Understand the LCA timing for H-1B transfers
If you're transferring an existing H-1B to Verkada, your new employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. You can start working as soon as USCIS receives the petition, not after approval.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles faster
Engineering Technician positions at Verkada open and close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to browse current sponsorship-confirmed openings at Verkada filtered by role and visa type, so you're applying to live postings rather than chasing listings that have already closed.
Ask about PERM timing during offer negotiations
For EB-2 or EB-3 green card pathways, the PERM labor certification process with the DOL typically begins after you've been employed for a period. Clarifying Verkada's standard timeline for initiating PERM for Engineering Technician roles helps you plan your long-term immigration strategy before signing an offer.

Does Verkada sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Technicians?
Yes, Verkada sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Technician roles. The company has an established pattern of supporting work visa petitions for technical and hardware-focused positions. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Verkada can file an H-1B transfer, allowing you to start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Engineering Technician jobs at Verkada?
You can browse and apply for Engineering Technician positions at Verkada through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Verkada's hardware and manufacturing teams post these openings on a rolling basis. Applying early matters since technical roles in physical security hardware tend to fill quickly at growth-stage tech companies.
Which visa types does Verkada commonly use for Engineering Technician roles?
Verkada sponsors several visa categories for Engineering Technicians, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. F-1 candidates in STEM fields may qualify for a 24-month OPT extension, which gives meaningful runway before an H-1B petition is needed.
What qualifications does Verkada expect for Engineering Technician roles?
Verkada's Engineering Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with hardware testing, PCB assembly, systems validation, or manufacturing quality processes. A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field is common. Familiarity with physical security or IoT hardware is a practical differentiator given Verkada's product focus on cloud-managed security systems.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a new hire at Verkada?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 OPT authorization from USCIS can take up to 90 days, so apply early through your DSO. H-1B transfers for existing visa holders move faster, with work authorization starting at USCIS receipt. New H-1B cap-subject petitions follow the annual April filing window, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest.
