- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Partner with stakeholders across the company to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next generation of observability infrastructure at Roblox.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building AI-powered observability platforms and intelligent developer infrastructure.

Tips for Finding Engineering Technician Jobs at Roblox
Translate hardware experience into Roblox's language
Roblox's Engineering Technician roles sit at the intersection of software infrastructure and physical hardware. Frame your bench work, PCB debugging, or lab equipment experience in terms of supporting large-scale platform operations, not just component-level repair.
Verify your visa type before applying
Roblox sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT, among others. Confirm your current status aligns with what they file for Engineering Technician roles, since not every visa category applies equally to technician-classified positions versus software engineering ones.
Time your OPT application to match Roblox's hiring cycles
F-1 OPT gives you 12 months of work authorization, with a 60-day grace period after graduation. Apply to Roblox's Engineering Technician openings early in your final semester so your OPT start date overlaps cleanly with their onboarding timeline.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation status
USCIS scrutinizes whether technician roles qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B. Have your transcripts, any certifications like CompTIA or IPC standards training, and a clear degree-to-job-duties mapping ready before the offer stage, not after.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Engineering Technician roles at Roblox
Engineering Technician openings at large tech companies fill quickly and aren't always easy to track. Migrate Mate filters Roblox's active listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify and apply to roles that match your authorization status without manual searching.
Engage Roblox recruiters with lab or production environment specifics
Roblox's technician team works in hardware validation and infrastructure support for a live platform. Mentioning hands-on experience with test environments, hardware bring-up, or cross-functional lab coordination signals you understand the operational context, not just the technical theory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Roblox sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Technicians?
Yes, Roblox sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Technician roles. Because H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, the role typically needs to involve a body of theoretical knowledge tied to a specific degree field. Roblox's technician positions in hardware validation and infrastructure generally meet that bar, but your specific duties and degree field will factor into USCIS's assessment.
How do I apply for Engineering Technician jobs at Roblox?
You can browse and apply for Engineering Technician openings at Roblox through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your authorization status before applying. Roblox's hiring process for this function typically involves a recruiter screen, a technical assessment focused on hardware and diagnostics, and panel interviews with the engineering team.
Which visa types does Roblox commonly use for Engineering Technician roles?
Roblox files across several visa categories for Engineering Technicians, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates. The right category depends on your nationality, degree level, and current immigration status. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is also available for longer-term pathways.
What qualifications does Roblox look for in Engineering Technician candidates?
Roblox's Engineering Technician roles typically require a technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. Practical skills in hardware debugging, lab equipment operation, PCB-level troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration with software teams carry significant weight. Certifications in IPC standards or relevant hardware tools strengthen your candidacy, particularly if your degree is from outside the United States.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if I receive an offer from Roblox?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, Roblox would need to register you in the USCIS lottery in March for an October 1 start date. That's a six-month minimum from offer to work authorization. Premium processing can reduce USCIS adjudication to around 15 business days once the petition is filed, but the lottery window itself cannot be accelerated. Cap-exempt situations, such as transferring from another H-1B employer, move faster.
