Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Consulting firms like Audubon frequently staff engineers on client sites, so USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree field directly matches the role. A computer science or software engineering degree strengthens your petition; an unrelated degree paired with equivalent experience requires careful documentation.
Research Audubon's active DOL labor condition applications
Search the DOL OFLC disclosure data for Audubon Companies to see which job titles and work locations they've filed LCAs for. This tells you which roles are actively moving toward sponsorship and helps you target the right team.
Find open roles through Migrate Mate before applying directly
Migrate Mate filters Senior Software Engineering openings at employers with verified sponsorship history, so you're targeting roles where the process is already established. Browse current Audubon listings there to identify which positions are actively hiring sponsored candidates.
Prepare for client-site work location disclosures
Consulting roles often involve placements at client offices, which requires Audubon to file an amended LCA or H-1B if your primary work location changes. Ask during the offer stage how they handle worksite amendments to avoid delays after you start.
Start your F-1 OPT extension timeline early
If you're on OPT, STEM extension applications must reach USCIS at least 90 days before your OPT expires. Confirm that Audubon is enrolled in E-Verify, which is required for your employer to authorize a STEM OPT extension.
Clarify PERM sponsorship scope during offer negotiation
Audubon sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but the timeline and employer commitment vary by role and seniority. During negotiations, ask specifically whether the offer includes a PERM filing commitment and at what point in your tenure it would begin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Audubon Companies sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Audubon Companies does not appear among employers with a significant H-1B visa filing history for software engineering roles. The visa types they actively sponsor include F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and permanent residency pathways via EB-2 and EB-3. If you're currently on H-1B visa status and seeking a transfer, confirm the company's current H-1B posture directly with their HR team before applying.
Which visa types does Audubon Companies commonly sponsor for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Audubon Companies sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, J-1 for exchange visitors, and Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories. For Senior Software Engineering positions specifically, TN and F-1 OPT are the most commonly available entry points, with permanent residency as a longer-term pathway.
What qualifications and experience does Audubon Companies expect for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Senior Software Engineering positions at Audubon Companies typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, along with several years of hands-on development experience. Because Audubon operates in the consulting and professional services sector, candidates with experience supporting multi-client or project-based technical environments tend to align well. Proficiency in enterprise software stacks and the ability to work across multiple client engagements are recurring expectations.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at Audubon Companies?
You can browse current Senior Software Engineering openings at Audubon Companies through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles at employers with verified sponsorship activity so you're not applying blind. When you find a position, apply through Audubon's career portal and address your visa status clearly in your application. Following up with the recruiter to confirm sponsorship eligibility before the first interview saves time for both sides.
How do I plan my timeline if Audubon Companies is sponsoring my Green Card?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes two to three years from initial PERM filing to an approved I-140, before priority date wait times even begin. For nationals from high-backlog countries, priority date queues can extend substantially beyond that. Confirm with Audubon's HR team when in your tenure they typically initiate PERM, and maintain valid work authorization continuously throughout the process.
