Tailor your resume to Apple's NPI process
Apple Manufacturing Engineer postings frequently reference New Product Introduction cycles. Frame your resume around NPI milestones, DFM reviews, and yield ramp experience so your background maps directly to the language Apple's hiring managers use.
Target roles tied to specific product lines
Apple hires Manufacturing Engineers by product family, including iPhone, Mac, and wearables. Applying to a role aligned with your process expertise, whether SMT, CNC machining, or final assembly, significantly improves your chances of clearing the initial screening filter.
Secure your credentials before the offer stage
Apple's legal team initiates visa filings after an offer is accepted, not during interviews. Have your degree transcripts evaluated by a NACES-approved credential agency beforehand, especially if your degree is from outside the United States, so there are no delays once the process starts.
Understand Apple's H-1B filing window and your timeline
If you need an H-1B, USCIS only accepts cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask Apple's immigration counsel whether your current status, such as F-1 OPT or a cap-exempt period, can bridge the gap.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Manufacturing Engineer roles at Apple
Apple posts Manufacturing Engineer openings across multiple sites and campuses, and not all appear on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Apple roles that include visa sponsorship so you're only applying where sponsorship is confirmed.
Clarify visa portability before accepting a transfer within Apple
If you're already on an H-1B with another employer and Apple extends an offer, your 60-day portability window under AC21 allows you to start while the transfer petition is pending, but the new role must be in the same or a substantially similar occupational classification.

Find Manufacturing Engineer at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineer roles. Manufacturing Engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines because the position typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a directly related field. Apple works with immigration counsel to file both initial petitions and extensions for this function.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at Apple?
Applications go through Apple's careers portal, where roles are listed by product line and site. Filtering by job function and location helps narrow results. Migrate Mate also indexes Apple's sponsored Manufacturing Engineer openings, so you can confirm visa sponsorship eligibility before applying. Referrals from Apple engineers in adjacent teams, particularly those working on hardware or operations, can improve your visibility in the review process.
Which visa types does Apple use for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
Apple sponsors several visa categories for this function, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australian citizens, and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering degrees. For students finishing degrees in the U.S., Apple also supports F-1 OPT and CPT. Longer-term sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways is also available for eligible employees.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
Most postings require a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science. Apple's hardware manufacturing environment means hands-on experience with processes like SMT, injection molding, CNC machining, or precision assembly carries significant weight. Familiarity with DFM principles, NPI cycles, statistical process control, and factory ramp experience in consumer electronics or a comparable high-volume environment strengthens your application considerably.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing Engineer at Apple?
Timeline depends on the visa category. E-3, H-1B1, and TN petitions can often be resolved within a few weeks of offer acceptance. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow a fixed government calendar, with USCIS accepting registrations in March and employment starting no earlier than October 1. Premium processing is available for H-1B petitions and reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days, which Apple's legal team may elect depending on your start date.
