Align your credentials to semiconductor process knowledge
KLA's Manufacturing Engineer roles center on equipment-intensive environments like etch, deposition, and metrology. Tailor your resume to highlight hands-on fab experience, process qualification work, or yield analysis projects that map directly to wafer-level production.
Target roles tied to specific tool sets
KLA's job postings for Manufacturing Engineers often specify equipment families such as inspection or metrology tools. Matching your application to a listed tool set signals domain fit and moves you past initial screening faster than a general manufacturing background.
Prepare for a multi-round technical interview process
KLA typically runs engineering candidates through both technical and cross-functional rounds. Be ready to walk through a process excursion you diagnosed, the root cause methodology you used, and the measurable yield or uptime outcome you achieved.
Clarify OPT and CPT timelines before your first interview
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT start date and remaining duration before interviews begin. KLA sponsors H-1B petitions, but your OPT runway needs to cover the gap between your start date and an October 1 H-1B effective date.
Understand how PERM labor certification fits your timeline
For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways, DOL's PERM process requires the employer to document recruitment before filing. At a company with active Manufacturing Engineer hiring, your role's job description and requirements must precisely match the PERM application to avoid audit delays.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles filtered by sponsorship
Searching broadly for manufacturing jobs wastes time on employers who won't file. Use Migrate Mate to filter Manufacturing Engineer openings at KLA by visa type so you're only applying where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KLA sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, KLA sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers. The company has a consistent record of filing H-1B petitions for engineering roles across its U.S. facilities. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, KLA can bridge you through the H-1B visa cap-subject process, with the petition filed in April for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at KLA?
Applications go through KLA's careers portal at kla.com. Search for Manufacturing Engineer openings filtered by location, since most fab-facing roles are tied to specific sites. You can also browse open positions on Migrate Mate, which filters KLA's Manufacturing Engineer listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying.
Which visa types does KLA commonly use for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
KLA sponsors H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Manufacturing Engineer positions, with H-1B being the primary long-term work authorization pathway. For permanent residency, the company files PERM-based EB-2 and EB-3 petitions. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles under USMCA.
What qualifications does KLA expect for Manufacturing Engineer candidates?
Most Manufacturing Engineer openings at KLA require a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or a closely related field. Practical experience in semiconductor fab environments, familiarity with Statistical Process Control, and exposure to equipment qualification or process integration work are consistently weighted heavily across posted roles.
How does the H-1B sponsorship timeline work for a Manufacturing Engineer offer at KLA?
If you're on F-1 OPT when you receive an offer, KLA's immigration team typically initiates the H-1B cap lottery registration in March. Selection results come in April, and approved petitions take effect October 1. Your OPT must remain valid through that gap. USCIS premium processing, which returns a decision in roughly 15 business days, is sometimes used to reduce uncertainty.
