Align your resume to SiC process experience
Wolfspeed's manufacturing roles center on silicon carbide fabrication, not general semiconductor work. Highlight any experience with CVD, epitaxial growth, or wide-bandgap materials. Generic process engineering resumes get filtered out early at companies running specialized fab lines.
Target roles tied to active production ramps
Wolfspeed has been expanding SiC capacity for electric vehicle and power electronics demand. Manufacturing Engineer openings tied to new fab buildouts or yield improvement programs tend to carry stronger sponsorship urgency than backfill roles in steady-state production.
Get your foreign degree equivalency documented early
For H-1B or PERM-based sponsorship, USCIS and DOL both require your degree to meet specialty occupation standards. If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization before you reach the offer stage.
Clarify OPT or CPT authorization before your interview
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT start date and STEM extension eligibility before discussing timelines with Wolfspeed's recruiting team. Wolfspeed participates in E-Verify, which is required for STEM OPT employers, so your authorization needs to be current on day one.
Ask specifically about EB-2 or EB-3 PERM timelines at offer
Wolfspeed sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for engineering roles. At the offer stage, ask whether the role has an established PERM job description on file. Roles tied to a defined production function typically move through the DOL PERM audit process more predictably than newly created positions.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Manufacturing Engineer roles
Sponsorship-eligible Manufacturing Engineer positions at Wolfspeed are not always flagged clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Wolfspeed roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, so you're only investing time in applications where your immigration status won't be a barrier.

Find Manufacturing Engineer at Wolfspeed JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Wolfspeed sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
Yes, Wolfspeed sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers. The company has an active sponsorship history for engineering roles across its silicon carbide fabrication operations. If you're currently on H-1B with another employer, Wolfspeed can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start working as soon as the petition is received by USCIS under portability rules.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at Wolfspeed?
Applications go through Wolfspeed's careers portal at wolfspeed.com. Browse open Manufacturing Engineer roles, filter by location, and apply directly. For visa-sponsored openings specifically, Migrate Mate aggregates Wolfspeed's sponsorship-eligible positions so you can confirm your immigration status is supported before investing time in the application process.
Which visa types does Wolfspeed commonly use for Manufacturing Engineer roles?
Wolfspeed sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for active students and recent graduates in Manufacturing Engineer roles. For longer-term permanent residence, the company supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering classifications under the USMCA.
What qualifications does Wolfspeed expect for Manufacturing Engineer candidates?
Most Manufacturing Engineer roles at Wolfspeed require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, or a closely related field. Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes, particularly in compound semiconductors or wide-bandgap materials like silicon carbide, is a strong differentiator. For H-1B sponsorship, your degree field must align directly with the job duties to meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I manage timing between an offer and H-1B cap filing at Wolfspeed?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start date, and the lottery registration window is in March. If you receive a Wolfspeed offer outside that window, ask whether the role qualifies for cap-exempt filing or whether they'll hold the position. Premium processing through USCIS is available and reduces the adjudication window to roughly 15 business days once your petition is filed.
