Target engineering and R&D roles first
Wolfspeed's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines like power electronics, semiconductor design, and materials engineering. Focusing your search on these departments gives you the strongest chance of landing a role that qualifies for visa sponsorship.
Understand which visa types Wolfspeed supports
Wolfspeed sponsors H-1B, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. If you're on F-1 OPT or CPT, Wolfspeed has a track record of working with students transitioning into full-time roles, so those programs are worth exploring.
Position your specialty occupation credentials clearly
H-1B approval at Wolfspeed depends on demonstrating your role requires a degree in a specific technical field. Tailor your resume to emphasize how your academic background directly maps to the semiconductor or power electronics work you'll be doing.
Look for Green Card pathways early in the process
Wolfspeed has a consistent track record of sponsoring permanent residency, particularly through EB-2 and EB-3. Ask about PERM timelines during the offer stage so you understand when the Green Card process could realistically begin.
Browse verified openings before applying broadly
Not every Wolfspeed role will come with sponsorship, and job postings rarely confirm it upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for a technical-first interview process
Wolfspeed interviews in semiconductor and hardware roles are heavily technical. Demonstrating depth in silicon carbide technology, power conversion systems, or device physics will strengthen your candidacy and signal the specialized expertise that supports a specialty occupation visa filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Wolfspeed sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Wolfspeed sponsors H-1B visas and has done so consistently across its engineering and technical functions. The company's focus on silicon carbide semiconductor development means most sponsored roles fall into specialty occupation categories in electrical engineering, materials science, and related fields. If you're pursuing an H-1B, targeting R&D and product engineering roles gives you the strongest footing.
What visa types does Wolfspeed sponsor?
Wolfspeed sponsors H-1B work visas, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 labor certification. The company also works with F-1 students on OPT and CPT, making it a viable option for international graduates transitioning from university into the semiconductor industry.
Which departments or roles at Wolfspeed are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Wolfspeed is most concentrated in engineering and technical research functions, including semiconductor device engineering, power electronics design, process engineering, and materials characterization. Corporate and administrative roles are less frequently sponsored. If your background is in electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline, you're in the strongest position to find a sponsored opening.
How do I find open jobs at Wolfspeed that include visa sponsorship?
The safest approach is to search platforms that verify sponsorship history rather than relying on job postings, which often don't disclose visa support upfront. Migrate Mate lets you browse Wolfspeed's open roles filtered by confirmed sponsorship activity, so you can apply knowing the company has a real track record of sponsoring that visa type.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Wolfspeed?
Wolfspeed's sponsorship is tied closely to technical specialization. Candidates who can demonstrate deep expertise in silicon carbide devices, power conversion, or semiconductor fabrication are far more competitive than generalists. Aligning your resume to the specific engineering discipline of the role, addressing the specialty occupation requirement directly, and clarifying your current visa status early in conversations with recruiters will all help move the process forward.
