INTRODUCTION
The Product Solutions Architecture (PSA) team acts as a technical multiplier across Datadog. PSAs are domain experts who partner with Field teams on complex customer use cases across pre- and post-sales engagements and scale their impact by producing reusable collateral, including reference architectures, technical guides, and enablement assets. By feeding real-world customer insights back to Datadog Product teams, PSAs help influence product roadmaps while accelerating adoption, usage, and long-term customer success.
Datadog's Service Management suite — spanning App Builder, Incident Management, Event Management, Workflow Automation, and On-Call — helps enterprises detect, triage, and resolve operational issues faster while automating the manual toil around incident response. As a Product Solutions Architect, you will partner closely with Datadog customers and the Service Management product team to design architectures, implement best practices, and drive adoption of App Builder, Incident Management, Event Management, Workflow Automation, and On-Call across customer environments.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the in-house subject matter expert for Datadog's Service Management products — App Builder, Incident Management, Event Management, Workflow Automation, and On-Call
- Partner with Field teams to provide hands-on technical and architectural guidance to enterprise customers adopting Service Management, including designing on-call escalation policies, incident response workflows, event correlation pipelines, and custom internal tools with App Builder
- Create high-impact technical collateral, including reference architectures, technical guides, cookbooks, and documentation to enable Field teams and the broader customer community — covering topics like automated incident response, alert noise reduction via Event Management, custom runbook automation with Workflow Automation, and low-code app development with App Builder
- Build proofs of concept and small-scale deployments to validate solutions and reproduce real-world customer environments, such as end-to-end incident lifecycles from alert to resolution
- Act as a trusted advisor to Product Management by delivering actionable feedback informed by real-world field experience, helping shape the roadmap for automation, on-call operations, and incident workflows
Who You Are:
- You bring a strong engineering foundation, with hands-on experience building and operating incident response programs, on-call rotations, or internal automation/tooling in production environments at a large scale, and are comfortable diving deep into codebases to understand architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and implementation details
- You are familiar with distributed systems and core observability concepts, such as tracing, metrics, and logging, and understand how alerting, event correlation, and incident management fit into a broader operational workflow
- Experience with languages such as Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, and familiarity with low-code/no-code application development concepts
- Comfortable operating in rapidly evolving, ambiguous technical domains
- You build deep context across teams and translate it into reusable, scalable solutions
- You take ownership from problem definition through implementation and measurable outcomes
- Highly detail-oriented, particularly when working on architectures and customer-facing technical assets
- You bring strong listening and consultative skills and are experienced supporting customers in high-pressure, complex situations — including live incident scenarios
- Able to sit up to 4 hours, traveling to and from client sites
- Able to travel via auto, train, or air up to 40% of the time
Bonus Points:
- Successful track record with 5+ years experience working as a Solutions Architect or Sales Engineer supporting incident management, ITSM, on-call/paging, or workflow automation tools (e.g., PagerDuty, Opsgenie, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Rundeck)
- Experience using Datadog and/or other observability tools in an SRE or DevOps capacity, particularly owning on-call responsibilities or building internal automation
- Experience building custom applications or internal tools using low-code platforms (e.g., Retool, App Builder) is a plus
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:
- Best-in-breed onboarding
- Generous global benefits

Target engineering and data roles first
Datadog's core business is built on software infrastructure, so roles in software engineering, site reliability, and data science represent the strongest sponsorship pipeline. These teams have the clearest specialty occupation case and a consistent history of H-1B filings.
Understand Datadog's H-1B1 and TN options
If you're from Singapore, Chile, or Canada and Mexico, Datadog sponsors H-1B1 visa and TN visas in addition to H-1B. These cap-exempt categories skip the lottery entirely, making Datadog an especially strong option for applicants from those countries.
Factor in OPT and CPT if you're still in school
Datadog actively hires F-1 students on OPT and CPT, which means you can start building tenure there before H-1B sponsorship becomes the next conversation. Early entry through OPT strengthens your internal case significantly.
Know that Green Card sponsorship is part of the picture
Datadog has a track record of sponsoring employees through the EB-2 and EB-3 green card process, not just temporary visas. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, Datadog's pattern of immigrant visa filings makes it worth prioritizing in your search.
Position yourself around Datadog's growth areas
Datadog continues expanding its product suite in security, AI observability, and cloud cost management. Candidates who align their applications with these product verticals are entering a high-hiring area, which typically correlates with stronger sponsorship activity.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every job listing signals real sponsorship willingness. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, making it easier to find Datadog openings alongside other companies with comparable track records.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas and does so at a level that places it among the more active sponsors in the enterprise software industry. Sponsorship is most consistent for technical roles in software engineering, infrastructure, and data, though go-to-market positions with a clear specialty occupation basis have also been supported. If you're applying through the annual H-1B lottery, targeting Datadog early in the cap season is advisable.
Which visa types does Datadog sponsor?
Datadog sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, H-1B1 visa (for eligible Singaporean and Chilean nationals), TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT. On the immigrant side, Datadog also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for eligible employees, making it one of the more comprehensive sponsors in the technology sector for both temporary and permanent pathways.
Which roles at Datadog are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Software engineering, platform engineering, site reliability, and data science roles have the strongest sponsorship track record at Datadog, consistent with the company's core product focus on cloud monitoring and observability. Product management and certain sales engineering roles can also qualify, provided the specialty occupation requirement is met. Roles that don't require a degree in a specific technical field are harder to sponsor and less commonly supported.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at Datadog?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Datadog openings with confirmed sponsorship history. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate filters specifically for employers with verified visa filing records, so you're not guessing at sponsorship willingness. You can browse Datadog's current openings alongside other active sponsors in the technology sector, and filter by visa type to match your specific situation.
How do I approach the H-1B timeline when targeting Datadog?
The H-1B cap registration window typically opens in March, with an October 1 employment start date for selected registrations. If you're aiming to join Datadog on an H-1B, the ideal scenario is securing an offer by late winter so your employer has time to file before the registration deadline. Datadog's familiarity with the H-1B process means their legal team is typically well-prepared, but the lottery timeline still requires your offer to come early enough to meet USCIS deadlines.
