Target engineering and AI roles first
ByteDance's sponsorship activity is heavily concentrated in software engineering, machine learning, and data science. If your background aligns with these areas, you're applying into the company's strongest hiring pipeline for international candidates.
Apply early relative to the H-1B cap season
As an active H-1B sponsor, ByteDance typically moves quickly during cap season. Getting your application materials ready well before the March registration window opens gives recruiters time to build your petition without rushing.
Look beyond TikTok for sponsored openings
ByteDance operates multiple product lines beyond TikTok, including CapCut, Lark, and internal AI infrastructure teams. Sponsored roles appear across these divisions, so broadening your search increases your chances of finding a fit.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified ByteDance openings
Confirmed sponsorship history matters more than a company's general reputation. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find open ByteDance roles where international candidates are actively welcomed.

Find ByteDance JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ByteDance sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ByteDance sponsors H-1B visas and is one of the most active H-1B sponsors in the U.S. technology sector. Sponsorship is concentrated in software engineering, machine learning, and data-focused roles. ByteDance also sponsors H-1B1 visas for eligible nationals from Singapore and Chile, giving it broader coverage than many comparable tech employers.
What visa types does ByteDance sponsor?
ByteDance sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 nonimmigrant work visas, as well as immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. This range means the company can support international talent across nationalities and career stages, from initial U.S. work authorization through to permanent residence for longer-tenured employees.
Which roles and departments at ByteDance are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at ByteDance is most common in technical functions: software engineering, machine learning research, data engineering, and product development. Operations, legal, and policy roles are sponsored less frequently. If you're targeting a non-technical position, it's worth confirming sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter early in the process to avoid surprises later.
How do I find ByteDance jobs that offer visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate lists ByteDance openings that are verified for visa sponsorship, so you're not guessing based on a job description. Filter by company name or visa type to see current roles where ByteDance has a confirmed history of sponsoring international candidates. This saves time compared to manually vetting postings across general job boards.
How do I approach the application process at ByteDance as an international candidate?
Mention your visa status or sponsorship needs early, ideally in your initial recruiter screen, so ByteDance's immigration team can be looped in before an offer is extended. ByteDance has an established immigration process and dedicated legal support, but timelines can be tight around cap season. Having your documentation organized and being clear about your work authorization situation helps the process move smoothly.
