INTRODUCTION
Datadog's Revenue Operations & Finance team continues to expand as we work continuously to improve and solve complex business problems.
The Sales Revenue team supports Datadog's rapid growth by collaborating with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational, and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business and Sales organization continues to grow as rapidly and efficiently as possible.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience managing commission processes at scale while collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Strategy, and Operations. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking high visibility, meaningful ownership, and a clear path for growth within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
We are looking for a Sales Revenue Analyst to join us in Boston, MA to support our team in managing global sales team compensation calculations and new business revenue recognition.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
- Own the monthly sales commission process across multiple sales segments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and operational excellence
- Improve day-to-day operations by identifying process gaps, fixing inefficiencies, and building practical tracking for new initiatives as the business grows
- Analyze compensation results to identify trends, surface risks, and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Review deal structures and financial terms to ensure alignment with compensation policies and revenue recognition requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Systems and Strategy to support compensation plan execution and business initiatives
- Maintain and optimize compensation systems, reporting and dashboarding by leveraging tools such as Salesforce and CaptivateIQ to elevate sales performance visibility, improve data integrity, and enhance the overall experience for sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Partner closely with Datadog's most senior leaders to evaluate, design, and operationalize new sales strategy programs
Who You Are:
- 1-3 years of experience in Finance, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Incentive Compensation, or Business Analytics — ideally within a high-growth SaaS and/or multi-national public company
- Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets; familiarity with Tableau, Metabase, CaptivateIQ (or similar compensation software), and other BI tools is a plus
- A strong problem solver who can recognize patterns and translate data into insights; prior exposure to SaaS economics, deal structuring, or MRR business models is highly valued
- Comfortable operating and thinking in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience presenting to teams of various functions and levels, including C-suite executives
- Demonstrated project ownership and delivery - ability to manage cross-functional relationships, coordinate priorities, and drive projects forward across teams and stakeholders
Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:
- Generous and competitive benefits package
- New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan
- Continuous career development and pathing opportunities
- Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
- Friendly and inclusive workplace culture
Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.

Frame your quota attainment for U.S. norms
Datadog Sales roles are quota-carrying and metrics-driven. Before applying, reformat your resume to show percentage of quota attained, ARR closed, and deal cycle length, the way U.S. enterprise SaaS hiring managers read sales performance.
Target roles aligned with your visa type
Datadog sponsors multiple visa categories, but not every Sales role is filled the same way. H-1B1 visa holders from Singapore or Chile, TN candidates from Canada or Mexico, and F-1 OPT graduates should filter by roles where their status is immediately work-authorized, reducing time-to-start friction for the hiring team.
Understand Datadog's LCA filing obligations before negotiating
For H-1B roles, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying a prevailing wage for your location. Know the posted wage levels for your metro area before discussing compensation so you can negotiate from an informed position.
Prepare your specialty occupation case early
Sales Engineer and technical Sales roles at Datadog are more defensible as H-1B specialty occupations than pure Account Executive roles. If your offer is for a quota-carrying AE position, confirm with the recruiter that the role has historically been approved for H-1B before assuming sponsorship is straightforward.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Sales roles
Datadog posts Sales positions across seniority levels and product lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type so you can focus applications on positions where your specific sponsorship need is already supported.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, Datadog must register you in USCIS's March lottery for an October 1 start. Starting conversations with recruiters in November through January gives the company time to build a case and submit your registration before the window closes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for Sales roles, though the strength of the petition depends on the specific position. Technical Sales roles like Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect carry a clearer specialty occupation argument with USCIS than general Account Executive titles. If you're applying for a non-technical Sales role, confirm the sponsorship path directly with the recruiter before advancing through the process.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Datadog?
Apply directly through Datadog's careers page, where Sales roles are organized by seniority, product line, and region. Before applying, review the job description for language about visa sponsorship eligibility. If you need sponsorship, address it early in the recruiter screen rather than waiting until the offer stage. Migrate Mate also lists open Sales positions at Datadog filtered by visa type, which helps you prioritize applications where your status is already supported.
Which visa types does Datadog commonly use for Sales hires?
Datadog sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. For Sales roles specifically, H-1B and TN visa are the most common paths for candidates already in the pipeline. F-1 OPT is viable for recent graduates entering SDR or associate-level Sales positions while they remain within their authorized OPT period.
What qualifications does Datadog look for in Sales candidates needing sponsorship?
Datadog's Sales hiring focuses on demonstrated quota attainment, familiarity with SaaS or cloud infrastructure sales cycles, and the ability to sell to technical buyers like DevOps and platform engineering teams. For visa-sponsored candidates, your degree field matters too, H-1B petitions for Sales roles are stronger when your academic background is in computer science, engineering, or business with a technical concentration.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for a Datadog Sales role?
Cap-subject H-1B sponsorship runs on a fixed annual cycle. USCIS opens registration in March, and approved petitions have an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT with enough time remaining, Datadog can employ you while your H-1B is pending. Start the recruiter conversation no later than January for that year's cap season. If you miss the lottery, TN status is an immediate alternative if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship.
