INTRODUCTION
As a Senior PM for Managed Security Provider Experience within Datadog Security, you will define and deliver capabilities that enable our MSSPs and MDR partners to monitor, hunt, triage, and respond to threats across multiple customer environments. You will help extend Datadog Security's Detection Engine into broader multi-tenant security operations workflows for MSSPs and MDR providers operating at scale.
Your work will span federated detection, cross-environment hunting, alert management across organizations, multi-tenant console workflows, analyst triage, case routing, automation, permissions, onboarding, and reporting. Partnering closely with our partners ecosystem, strategic enterprise customers, engineering, design, and internal product teams, you will translate complex managed security workflows into intuitive, scalable product experiences.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
- Define and drive the product scope for Datadog's managed security provider experience, with an initial focus on MSSP and MDR workflows
- Develop a deep understanding of how MSSPs, MDR providers, and strategic enterprise customers monitor, hunt, triage, and respond across multiple customer environments
- Translate provider needs into clear product requirements for federated detection, cross-environment hunting, alert management, multi-tenant console workflows, case routing, automation, permissions, onboarding, and reporting
- Partner with Detection Engine engineering to define how detection, hunting, and alerting capabilities should extend across organizations and customer environments
- Own key capabilities end to end, from discovery and requirements through launch, feedback, iteration, and adoption tracking
- Define and track success metrics that measure both product effectiveness and business impact, including provider adoption, partner-led opportunities, broader pipeline influence, alert management efficiency, time to triage, coverage across customer environments, workflow completion, and customer satisfaction.
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of product management experience building enterprise software for technical users; experience in security or observability is preferred
- Familiarity with security operations workflows such as threat detection, incident response, or detection engineering
- Strong product sense with the ability to balance technical systems thinking and intuitive user experience design
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and go-to-market teams to deliver impactful products

Frame your background around observability products
Datadog hires TPMs who can speak credibly to monitoring, APM, or infrastructure tooling. Before applying, reframe your resume and portfolio around metrics pipelines, alerting systems, or developer-facing products, not generic roadmap work.
Verify your OPT timeline before submitting applications
F-1 OPT gives you 12 months of work authorization, with a 60-day grace period after it ends. If you're within six months of expiration, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before your Datadog interview loop starts.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open TPM roles by visa type
Datadog regularly posts Technical Product Manager openings across multiple teams. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles filtered by the visa types Datadog sponsors, so you're targeting positions where sponsorship is already on the table.
Prepare a concise sponsorship conversation for the offer stage
Datadog's recruiting team handles sponsorship through HR and legal, not your hiring manager. When you reach the offer stage, ask directly whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship rather than assuming all TPM positions have identical authorization.
Align your degree field to the specialty occupation standard
USCIS requires that your degree field directly relates to the TPM role. A background in computer science, engineering, or information systems is the clearest fit. If your degree is in a different field, document how your coursework and experience bridge the gap.
Account for LCA certification lead time in your start date
Before Datadog files your H-1B petition, the DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application, which takes seven business days under standard processing. Factor this into your negotiated start date so the timeline doesn't create a gap in your authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Product Managers?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Product Manager roles. TPM positions at Datadog typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as computer science or engineering. Sponsorship decisions are made at the role level, so confirm with the recruiting team during the offer stage that your specific position is approved.
How do I apply for Technical Product Manager jobs at Datadog?
Apply directly through Datadog's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse Technical Product Manager openings filtered by visa sponsorship type. Datadog's TPM interview process typically includes a recruiter screen, a product sense interview, a technical scoping round, and a cross-functional collaboration assessment. Tailor your application to Datadog's monitoring and observability product areas, since the company looks for TPMs with demonstrated experience in developer tooling or infrastructure software.
Which visa types does Datadog commonly use for Technical Product Manager roles?
Datadog sponsors several visa categories for Technical Product Managers, including the H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students. For longer-term immigration, Datadog also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions. The right visa path depends on your nationality, degree, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does Datadog expect for Technical Product Manager roles?
Datadog's TPM roles generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related technical field, along with hands-on experience defining and shipping software products. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, or developer tools carries significant weight. Many roles also expect experience working directly with engineering teams on technical roadmaps, not just business-facing product work.
How do I plan the timing of my visa sponsorship at Datadog?
If Datadog is filing an H-1B on your behalf, the DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application before the petition goes to USCIS, adding at least seven business days to the timeline. Cap-subject H-1B filings only open in March for an October 1 start, so if you're mid-job-search, check whether you need a cap-exempt bridge or an OPT extension to stay authorized while your petition is pending.
