Align your credentials with Nike's BD structure
Nike's Business Development teams divide along channels: wholesale, retail, and strategic partnerships. Frame your resume around the specific channel you're targeting, not general BD. Specialty occupation petitions require a clear degree-to-role match, so make that connection explicit.
Target Nike's seasonal hiring windows strategically
Nike typically ramps BD hiring ahead of major product launch cycles and fiscal year planning. Submitting applications in Q3 and Q4 of the calendar year positions you before headcount decisions are finalized, giving you more runway for visa filing preparation.
Prepare for Nike's cross-functional interview process
BD interviews at Nike often involve panels from merchandising, finance, and go-to-market teams. Document cross-functional projects from past roles before your first screen. Strong partnership evidence supports both your candidacy and the specialty occupation argument in an H-1B or E-3 petition.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before the offer stage
Nike's recruiting process moves quickly once you clear final interviews. Raise your visa status during the offer discussion, not after signing. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm whether your remaining OPT window covers the time needed to file and receive petition approval.
Understand how USCIS classifies BD roles
USCIS evaluates whether a Business Development role qualifies as a specialty occupation based on the specific duties, not the title alone. Roles focused on strategic partner negotiations or market entry analysis typically clear this bar more cleanly than generalist BD coordinator positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Nike's open BD roles
BD openings at Nike are posted across multiple teams and regions, making it easy to miss relevant listings. Use Migrate Mate to filter Nike's Business Development jobs by visa type, so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed for your specific situation.

Does Nike sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Nike sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines. That generally means the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the job duties. BD positions focused on strategic partnerships, market analysis, or wholesale channel management tend to meet this threshold more consistently than broad coordinator-level roles.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Nike?
Start by filtering for Business Development roles on Nike's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lets you search by visa type so you can focus on positions where sponsorship aligns with your status. Tailor your application to Nike's specific BD channel structure, whether that's wholesale, retail partners, or strategic accounts. Highlight cross-functional project experience, as Nike's BD hiring panels typically include stakeholders from merchandising and finance.
Which visa types does Nike commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Nike sponsors a range of visa categories for Business Development positions, including the H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), and immigrant pathways including the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates are also considered, and J-1 visa holders in qualifying exchange programs may be eligible depending on the role structure and their program terms.
What qualifications does Nike expect for sponsored Business Development positions?
Most Business Development roles at Nike that carry visa sponsorship require a bachelor's degree in a field like business, marketing, economics, or a related discipline. Relevant experience in wholesale account management, brand partnerships, or consumer goods go-to-market functions strengthens your application significantly. Nike's BD teams value candidates who can navigate both data-driven market analysis and relationship-based sales cycles, particularly in the sporting goods or broader fashion and apparel space.
How do I time a visa filing for a Business Development offer from Nike?
Timing depends on your current status. If you need an H-1B cap-subject petition, Nike would file in April for an October 1 start, meaning you'd need your offer finalized by late March. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often processing within a few weeks through consular channels. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your work authorization end date against Nike's expected filing and onboarding timeline before accepting an offer.
