It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.

Frame Your Portfolio Around Bloomberg's Dual Identity
Bloomberg operates as both a financial data company and a global news organization. Communications candidates who can demonstrate experience bridging tech or financial services storytelling with media relations stand out over generalist communicators when visa sponsorship is on the table.
Target Roles With Clear Specialty Occupation Footing
H-1B eligibility hinges on your role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Communications roles at Bloomberg typically require a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. Make sure your resume reflects the specific discipline, not just general writing experience.
Search Bloomberg Openings Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Bloomberg's Communications listings by visa type before applying. This saves time identifying which open roles align with your sponsorship eligibility, whether you need H-1B, H-1B1, or E-3.
Raise Sponsorship Before the Offer Stage
Bloomberg's recruiters handle high application volumes. Clarifying your visa situation early in screening calls, rather than waiting for an offer, prevents delays if the role has geographic or timing constraints tied to LCA filing or consular processing.
Understand How E-3 or H-1B1 Can Skip the Lottery
If you're an Australian or Singapore or Chilean national, Bloomberg sponsors E-3 and H-1B1 visas, both of which are cap-exempt from the H-1B lottery. This means you can start at any time of year, not just October 1, which significantly expands your hiring window.
Prepare a PERM-Ready Employment History Early
If your goal is permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3, Bloomberg's PERM process requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were displaced. Having a clean, well-documented employment history with verifiable titles and duties speeds up the sponsoring employer's labor certification filing.

Find Communications at Bloomberg JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas for Communications roles?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for Communications positions. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which generally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as journalism, communications, or public relations. Bloomberg has a demonstrated history of filing H-1B petitions across its communications and media functions.
How do I apply for Communications jobs at Bloomberg?
Applications go through Bloomberg's careers portal. Before applying, review whether the role's description specifies visa sponsorship availability, since not every posting is open to candidates who require it. Migrate Mate lets you filter Bloomberg's Communications openings specifically by visa type, so you can prioritize roles that align with your sponsorship needs before submitting your application.
Which visa types does Bloomberg commonly sponsor for Communications professionals?
Bloomberg sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, along with immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for candidates pursuing permanent residence. Australian nationals can use the E-3, while Singapore and Chilean nationals qualify for the H-1B1, both of which bypass the annual H-1B lottery entirely.
What qualifications does Bloomberg typically expect for sponsored Communications roles?
Most Communications roles at Bloomberg require a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field. Practical experience in financial or technology media is a strong differentiator, since Bloomberg's communications function sits at the intersection of a global newsroom and a financial data company. Fluency with digital publishing tools and cross-functional stakeholder management is commonly expected.
How do visa sponsorship timelines typically work for a Communications hire at Bloomberg?
If you're cap-subject under H-1B, Bloomberg would file your petition in April for an October 1 start date, meaning your employment can't begin until the new fiscal year. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions are not subject to this lottery cycle and can be filed year-round. Factor in LCA certification with DOL, which typically takes seven business days, before any H-1B or E-3 petition can be submitted to USCIS.
