Align your certifications to Bloomberg's stack
Bloomberg's security engineering roles consistently emphasize cloud security, network defense, and SIEM platforms. Certifications like CISSP, OSCP, or AWS Security Specialty signal direct relevance and strengthen your H-1B or E-3 specialty occupation case from the start.
Target roles with dedicated security engineering scope
Bloomberg differentiates between broad IT support and specialized Cybersecurity engineering. Apply to roles with explicit ownership of threat modeling, vulnerability management, or security architecture. Narrowly scoped roles build a stronger specialty occupation argument for USCIS adjudication.
Search Bloomberg's open Cybersecurity roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Bloomberg's active Cybersecurity openings by visa type, so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. That removes guesswork and lets you prioritize roles where Bloomberg has already committed to sponsoring the visa category you need.
Engage Bloomberg recruiters before your OPT expires
Bloomberg's H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed for the October 1 start date, meaning lottery registration closes in March. If your OPT expires before October, raise cap-gap coverage and STEM OPT extension eligibility with the recruiter during the offer stage, not after.
Understand how Bloomberg structures the LCA filing
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. At Bloomberg, your offer letter's job title and worksite location must match the LCA exactly. Discrepancies between the two documents are a common source of processing delays.
Position your EB-2 or EB-3 pathway in the interview
Bloomberg sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for Cybersecurity professionals. If permanent residency is your goal, ask directly about PERM sponsorship timelines during your final round. Companies differ on when in tenure they initiate PERM, and Bloomberg's process varies by team.

Find Cybersecurity at Bloomberg JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas for Cybersecurity roles?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for Cybersecurity positions. Roles in security engineering, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, which require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Bloomberg participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery, so timing your application around the March registration window is essential.
Which visa types does Bloomberg commonly sponsor for Cybersecurity jobs?
Bloomberg sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Cybersecurity roles on the nonimmigrant side. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals, while E-3 is exclusive to Australian citizens. For permanent residency, Bloomberg supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which require a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before the immigrant petition moves to USCIS.
What qualifications does Bloomberg expect for sponsored Cybersecurity positions?
Bloomberg's Cybersecurity roles generally require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a closely related field, alongside hands-on experience in areas like penetration testing, incident response, cloud security, or security architecture. Advanced certifications such as CISSP or OSCP strengthen your profile. Roles at the senior level often expect prior experience in financial services or large-scale enterprise environments.
How do I apply for Cybersecurity jobs at Bloomberg?
You can browse Bloomberg's open Cybersecurity positions directly on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify openings aligned with your status. Applications go through Bloomberg's careers portal. Tailor your resume to the specific security domain the role covers, whether that's network defense, application security, or compliance engineering, rather than submitting a generalist profile.
How do I plan my timeline for Bloomberg's H-1B sponsorship process?
USCIS opens H-1B lottery registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. Bloomberg needs time to prepare your petition before that window, so securing an offer by December or January gives the immigration team adequate lead time. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you have up to 36 months of work authorization, which can bridge the gap if you miss a lottery cycle.
