Tips for Finding Sales Jobs at Bloomberg
Frame your pitch around Bloomberg's client verticals
Bloomberg's Sales team covers buy-side and sell-side institutions, asset managers, and corporate treasury. Tailor your resume to show experience selling complex data products or SaaS solutions to financial services clients, not just general enterprise sales.
Understand which visa types Bloomberg files
Bloomberg sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3, and EB-2 or EB-3 for Sales roles. If you're Australian, the E-3 path skips the H-1B lottery entirely. Knowing which category fits your background lets you have an informed conversation during the offer stage.
Target Bloomberg's roles using Migrate Mate
Filter open Bloomberg Sales positions by visa type on Migrate Mate to see which roles are currently active and which sponsorship categories they've historically filed for, so you're applying with full context rather than guessing.
Prepare credentials before H-1B cap season opens
H-1B registration runs in March, with an October 1 start date if selected. Have your degree transcripts, any credential evaluations for non-U.S. degrees, and employment verification letters ready well before Bloomberg's legal team needs to file.
Ask recruiters specifically about cap-exempt pathways
If you miss the H-1B lottery, Bloomberg may be able to transfer or extend status through cap-exempt mechanisms depending on your prior petition history. Raise this directly with the recruiter before assuming the lottery is your only route.
Verify your LCA wage tier matches your offer level
DOL requires employers to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location before USCIS approves the petition. If Bloomberg's offer comes in below the Level II or Level III prevailing wage for your metro area, that's a filing risk worth flagging early.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bloomberg sponsor H-1B visas for Sales?
Yes, Bloomberg sponsors H-1B visas for Sales roles. Bloomberg also sponsors H-1B1 visas for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 visas for Australian citizens, and pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-tenured employees. Sponsorship for Sales positions is not limited to technical or engineering roles, so candidates at various experience levels are eligible to be considered.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Bloomberg?
Applications go through Bloomberg's careers portal. For visa-sponsored roles specifically, Migrate Mate filters Bloomberg's open Sales positions by the visa categories they support, which helps you identify the right postings before applying. When you reach the offer stage, Bloomberg's immigration legal team handles the petition process directly with USCIS or the relevant consulate.
Which visa types does Bloomberg commonly use for Sales roles?
Bloomberg files H-1B petitions as the primary work visa for most nationalities in Sales. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which avoids the H-1B lottery and is renewable indefinitely in two-year increments. The H-1B1 visa is available for Singaporean and Chilean nationals. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is also part of Bloomberg's sponsorship profile for this function.
What qualifications does Bloomberg expect for sponsored Sales roles?
Bloomberg's Sales positions, particularly those covering terminal and enterprise analytics products, typically require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Practical experience selling data-driven or SaaS products to financial institutions carries significant weight. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, your degree must correspond to the specialty occupation defined in the USCIS petition, so alignment between your credentials and the role's requirements matters.
How do I time my job search to align with Bloomberg's visa filing process?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, Bloomberg would need to register you during the USCIS cap registration window in March for an October 1 start. That means securing an offer by late January or February to allow time for registration. E-3 and H-1B1 visa applications have no cap, so those can be filed and processed year-round, typically within a few weeks of receiving a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL.
